I read this in the early- to mid-'90s, and it would have been published around then or possibly the late '80s. It was a middle-grade book.

A girl tries out for a school or community production of Cinderella. She wants to be Cinderella, but is disappointed when she isn't cast (I think she's assigned to scenery or costumes or something instead). At some point in the book she starts learning how to make stained glass.

The only other thing I remember is a scene where she and her grandma are trying to get somewhere and they accidentally end up in a parade, and she pulls her grandma along in a wagon while her grandma sings "Funiculi, Funicula" and waves an Italian flag.

I don't remember much about the cover, but I think there was an illustration of the girl by a stained glass window.
