SOLVED. YA about Nepalese sherpa and journalist/ PR lady on Everest. [s]

there is something to do with a snow leopard the sherpa is trying to protect?
i think someone runs away and becomes a monk
there is a woman whose either a journalist or PR person getting coverage on a (famous?) man- could be an election campaign?
it's the sherpa's first ascent of everest
it's very possible that the details about the monk and the snow leopard are from a separate book
PR person/ journalist might be called Tracy.

the journalist could've got to the top but she's held back by the famous person she's meant to be following. The famous guy fakes the photos and people realise he doesn't reach the top. theres an avalanche and she dies while protecting the sherpa. the famous guy then runs away to become a monk or the sherpas friend runs away to a become a monk.

im not entirely sure- the journalist/pr person was probably in her 30's, the sherpa was definatley in his teens.

I don't think it's this book but thank you anyway- the sherpa was definitely a boy. I think the book took place in fairly modern times- probably 21st century. I remember nothing about the cover.

Sort of reminds of Annapurna: A Woman's Place, but I doubt that's it.
