SOLVED. YA Fantasy/SciFi (I think)- a guy named X is a sinner (?) hunter from underworld and he meets this girl at a lake. [s]

I read a hundred pages from it in our school's library in 2019. I think the book was published in 2012-2017. Idk, not really sure. The book cover's white and the title looks 3D with little fires on it. All I can remember is a lake that turned orange for a while because of a guy who doesn't know his name, but later he was named X. He's from underworld. And there's this girl who has two dogs and a brother. They're in snow and there is a forest.
