Nicole (aggie44) | 79 comments How are y'all finding these? Because there is apparently a Nichole Chase out there in the world, and I'm thinking I kinda have to read her, right?

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments Rick Riordan was my first thought, Rachel. Percy Jackson is quick, if you just want to get the first book out of the way. It's very MG but entertaining enough.

But for mine, I did the old wikipedia search thing. Authors with the last name A, found all the first name S's. I'm so sophisticated, you guys.

EDIT: okay you've already read PJO, lol. well, if you wanted to try his other books, there's that. i can't think of any other RR's off the top of my head right now, but i'll come back if i find some ;)

Stephanie (Chinchillita) (chinchillita) Any suggestions for SD? I'm not too interested in reading anything by Sylvia Day, but she's the only person I can think of.

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments i actually looked for an SD and found Susan Dennard Something Strange and Deadly. it's a pretty decent book if not a bit predictable.

I sorted my To-read list by author and looked for one that matched my initials. I was lucky enough to have a few options from that.

message 6: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (bookloverfl12) Any ideas for KG? I'm struggling on this one!

message 7: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments Kami Garcia? i didn't like Beautiful Creatures but other people did so it's worth a glance at?

Kerstin Gier's Ruby Red trilogy was originally written/published in German I enjoyed the first book but ultimately got distracted waiting for the others to be translated and published in the US and by the time all three were out I'd lost interest so... not exactly a ringing endorsement, sorry.

Hey everyone, there's a facebook group dedicated to this challenge as well (not run by me) and this website was suggested there for a way to find authors with your same initials:

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/

Danielle (danielle_jhnsn) I've had the hardest time finding an author with DD initials.

I didn't have any among my read list here on GR but the link above had upwards of 11 DD authors, it'll just take a bit of time to search through and find them and then decide if you want to read their work.

Sophie Brown (easyqueenie) | 4 comments The actor David Duchovny has a book out this year, I read it a few weeks ago (it also has non human characters) and really enjoyed it. But then I am a huge X-Files fan!

message 15: by Heather (new)

Heather Anyone have any ideas for H.C?

message 16: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teremazon) | 27 comments The initials category is one of the toughest. I was lucky I found one in my own kindle, but that keen on it. It will have to do, though

message 17: by Heather (new)

Heather Yikes. Not a lot of H.C-ers writing books. But thank you. Coben looks ok. I'll see if I can find his stuff anywhere.

message 18: by HSalik (new)

HSalik | 6 comments Any H.S.'s out there? I've looked everywhere (even tried to go through all the books in waterstones lol) but all I can find is H.S.-W or H.S-T or hyphen anything TT^TT

message 19: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments sorry, can't easily find any for HC or HS :/

message 20: by HSalik (new)

HSalik | 6 comments I never realised how rare my initials were before this. Eh its ok for now, I've got a while before I have to get to this book :D

I searched Amazon for authors and found a few with potential. Different genres included: Heather Sunseri, Holly Sloan, Hope Solo, Harry Sidebottom, Helen Simpson or Howard Stern.

I searched Ama..."

OMG Thank you!!!! I found an interesting book from the first author C:

message 23: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Caldwell | 36 comments I went to the library and went to the C section in fiction, and tried to find one with a first name that begins in C as well. There was one with my initials (CC). It's a book called Winkie by an author named Clifford Chase. I have never heard of the book or author, but I figured a big part of this challenge is stepping out of your comfort zone and reading something you might normally not pick up. So I'm gonna give it try after I finish my current challenge book.

message 24: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments yeah, i think what Crystal ^ says is also a pretty adventurous way of picking a book for this challenge. i'll probably just go do that myself!

message 25: by Christina (new)

Christina Webb (msbeefcake) | 32 comments Heather wrote: "Anyone have any ideas for H.C?"

There is Helen Cadbury- if you like mystery
Harlan Coban is highly rated and has tons of books to choose
Helen conrad - romance
Hy Conrad -mysteries and was a writer for the show monk and white colar

message 26: by Sheally (new)

Sheally (sheallyt) | 67 comments I was having a hard time finding an author with ST initials. I found a couple, but wasn't really interested in them. But now I'm excited I found An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir.

message 27: by Svein (new)

Svein | 7 comments My initials are SHK, but I cant find anything under that. Should I care about my middle name? SK is no problem.

message 28: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments no, thank goodness, that would make things so complicated! :) from what i've seen, we are sticking with first and last name.

message 29: by Svein (new)

Svein | 7 comments Stephanie wrote: "no, thank goodness, that would make things so complicated! :) from what i've seen, we are sticking with first and last name."

That makes it quite a lot easier :) Thanks for the quick answer!

message 30: by Sheally (new)

Sheally (sheallyt) | 67 comments Oh my no, no middle initial! If mine were SK, I'd choose Stephen King.

message 31: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (shynotebooks) | 73 comments just throwing this out there since we have more members now, does anyone have suggestions for SA? it seems like a hard one :/

message 33: by Sheally (new)

Sheally (sheallyt) | 67 comments Sarah Aldridge

If you pick Sherman Alexie you can double duty because several of his books have been banned, IIRC.
