We are going for a theme for our BOTM Group Read in June. Looking for nominations of CLEAN books that have been made into a movie. Here we go!

Elisabeth aka Elsie(Taylor's version) | 132 comments Ender’s game(I think it’s quite clean)

message 3: by Ella (new)

Ella Ferris (eferris) Charlotte's Web

message 4: by Mary (new)

Mary The Giver is a clean YA Distopia that inspired a really fun movie. Personally, I liked the movie even more than the book, but it's still a really interesting read. Plus, it's considered a classic.

message 13: by Avery (new)

Avery Pafford | 131 comments The lighting thief ^^^

message 14: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 2 comments I would like to nominate Dune by Frank Herbert. I know it’s a pretty long book and I am not sure on the cleanliness but I am pretty sure it is relatively clean. It would be cool to read it.

I read this book last year. It was really good. However, there is drug use, rape, and some explicit sex scenes in it, so we will not be able to put it on our list here.

ClaraBelle (elsiecorriedale) | 68 comments The only problem I saw with Flipped is that it had a graphic suicidal scene that was glorified, and the Lightning Thief has a sexually abusive relationship.

Wait, I read the Lightning Theif and if you're referring to Percy's mother and her boyfriend then that isn't explicitly stated or shown (plus I'd say it was domestic, not sexual). But regardless, it's a very small fraction I don't think it should decide reading or not reading the book. It's mostly mentioned in passing anyway.

Just giving my input, whatever you guys, as mods, decide is fine with me.
