1. This book is about a fantasy land where after a war the winners of the battle overtake the loser homes. As a result the main girls lives in this giant mansion that is full of servants, and people who lost in the battle . She purchases a Servant who has a bad reputation and is constantly causing problems. (Spoiler) I have this one scene that I remember where she takes him to a ball at an acquaintance's house where he is caught stealing a book. The frenemy arranges for her servant to have a public whipping and as result she challenges her frenemy to a dual. We find out later on that that house belonged to the main girl's servant and the book he was stealing belonged to his sister. This is all I can remember.
