Eighth grade, 2009, likely published in early 00s. I only read one story from it unfortunately, but do know it was a collection of short stories. In the one i read a boy is asked out by a girl to the school dance, he declines as he is saving his money, the girl calls him out on the spot and calls him cheap infront of everyone. Angry, the boy discovers a website where you can buy hexs to put on people who have wronged you, and he buys one against her. They start small and not costing much, but each one more expensive than the last, and each time they backfire to make the girls day better. He spends his last bit of money on a big hex to ruin the dance for her, but once again it backfires and she has the night of her life. The twist at the end being the girl, using the same site, put a hex on him to waste all of his money.
