Ok, is Foucault's Pendulum worth the read? Ive heard about it but im kinda confused what its about and im not sure if id like it (also i was HIGHLY recommended The Da Vinci Code by a friend, so now i really have to read it!)

Well, Foucault's Pendulum is a great book, but it's not for everyone. If you are about to read it, be prepared for somehow slow paced plot, and many descriptions (most of them for historic evets).. I never had a problem with neither, but many people preper a fast paced, adventurus plot, so if you're looking for something like that, don't read it. But the story seems lovely to me, the messages the author wants to give are one of a kind, and the ending.... oh the ending. Just.. perfect.
The story and the main plot (I'm not really good at discribing, but I'll try to do my best) is somehow this: 3 editors, after researching the Knights Templar, and by the unexpected appearnace of an apocalyptic manuscript, find themselves lost in the search for a conspiracy theory that has passed from centuries to centruries, and is the secret for the dominion of the whole world, the secret for the key that would bring unlimited power to someone's hand. Although the plan has started as a joke, as a way to satire all those aspiring authors that pass from their office every day, the end up obsessed with it, unable to remember why it once used to be just a game. The seek has started, and it's now hard to stop, and even harder to separate the plan, from the reality. (now, I can't move on, cause I might say a spoiler, in case you ever read it)
On the whole, I think that a reader who reads just for fun, wouldn't really like it, but a reader who also reads to think deeply, whould love this book. :)
(I hope all this was usefull)
