August: Eight to Inifinty Team Challenge

Our member Niharika had the idea for this challenge. :-)

As August is the 8th month, and 8 is basically ∞ upright, these two will give you the rules for our Team Challenge:

Rules

1. As a team, try and read a book for each of the eight reading prompts you will be given below. A book can check off only one prompt, each prompt only gives a point once.

2. At the same time, read as many books as you possibly can (this is the infinity part) and let them be counted on the Challenge page for your team which you find next to your team's name. (How to join a challenge on the Challenge Page)

3. Post each book you finish in August in this thread, with a note about which team you're reading for and which (if any) reading prompt it applies to. Example:
I finished [book name] for Team [team name], checking off [this reading prompt]!

4. At the end of the month, the winning team will be chosen by the points they earned:
- 1 point per checked reading prompt, and an additional 8 if your group got them all
- the group with the most read books in total also gets 8 points for that.

5. Have fun!

Registration: July 15-30, 2021
Register by posting that you want to join in here during registration time. Your teams will be revealed in this thread on July 31st.

The Big Eight (Reading Prompts)

1)A book by an author who has written 8 or more books.

2) A book you first read when you were 8 years old OR in 8th grade (depending where you're from: aged somewehere between 12-15).

3) A book which has 8 or more main/recurring characters.

4) A book which was translated into at least 8 languages.

5) A book which has a numerical or written word for 8 in its title.

6) A book with 8 or more chapters.

7) A book whose ISBN-13 contains more than one 8. (ISBN-13 example which would count: 978-0-19-284085-1)

8) A book with at least 8 one to two star reviews on Goodreads.
