i read this book between the years of 2015-2019, the main protagonist meets someone from the outer lands. police dictator world with exile lands. from what i can remember there was laws for conformity and no writing/thoughts. very similar to 1984 but main character escapes to exiled lands to a group of exiles. i think the police came to those lands and raided the group. main character being followed by police for suspicious activity/ unique/ unusual.

this could’ve been an online read and not a physical copy of a book or turned into a book.

No not BNW unfortunately ): i can’t quite remember if the MC was male or female, but i do know that they were led to exiled lands where a group of outsiders lived by another protagonist.
