SOLVED. Romance novel with store raid at the beginning. [s]

I started listening to the audiobook about two years ago, but for some reason the book is not in my audible account anymore. Two teenage girls drive to a store or gas station to get snacks for their ladies night where a drugged teenager shoots the cashier and injurs the heroine really badly. The hero is there with his friends and steps in, talks to the guy and tries to calm him down. He gets him to sit down and have a drink. The girl is bleeding from her head and the hero offers her a drink as well.
Also the hero recognizes the guy. I think his brother and the attacker were in the same sports team or something. Sadly that is really all I can remember... It would be amazing if anyone knew which book I'm talking about! Thank you so much in advance.
