SOLVED. Children's/ YA Fantasy. The book begins with a girl going for a job interview. She finds out pretty soon that she's going to be working for the three fates. Possible Spoilers ahead. [s]

I remember that the interview is super weird because they really like a drawing of a skull that she did on her skin, but not the fact that she's wearing a khaki skirt? She'd even borrowed the skirt from a friend to try to look respectable. She starts out feeling really embarrassed about the drawing, but it ends up being the reason she gets the job.

The main character starts working for this agency that's run by people from different myths, including Greek and Norse. There are other employees who are sort of temporary assistants to people like the fates. She specifically is working for Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. At the end of the story, or at least I think it was at the end, the boss lady at the agency turns out to be Ratatoskr, the squirrel from Norse mythology that gnaws on the roots of the world tree.

This book was not part of a series as far as I know. I read it from my public library in southern Ontario probably sometime between 2007-2012. It was sorted into the children's section at my library branch, but the main character was a teenager. The cover might have had an illustration of the main character on the front, but that's all I remember about what it looked like.
