She nodded, then smirked, "Are you sure you want to train me? I mean look what good that did you, having to use that serum."
"Well then," Alya grumbled, tugging on a strand of her dark brown hair streaked with gold as she glared at Conifeir. "Can you show me this 'training' you talk of?"
Conifeir grinned, spreading his hands in the air, palms up. Alya gasped as a vial of green liquid materialized. He popped the cork easily with his thumb and chugged the potion, giving her one small smirk before his whole body when invisible.

(Sorry Mango! Do you want me to delete mine? We posted at the same time lol!)
(Aww, yours was good too! Can't wait to hear what you write next :3)

Alya scowled. She saw trampled grass that Conifeir had stepped on. She smiled and lunged.

(Thanks! <3)
A satisfying yelp streaked through the air as she felt her blade graze Conifeir's wrist.
"What did I say about this underestimating business?" Alya sang, mocking Conifeir. His furious growl only made her lips tilt higher.

He made another bottle appear drank its contents. Then, he disappeared.
Suddenly Alya felt an acute pain in her ankle. She looked at her ankle and saw a tiny Conifeir punching her leg. The girl smirked. This was going to be easy.
She tried to grab Conifeir but he lept nimbly out of the way
Sighing, Ayla rolled her eyes and crouched down so that tiny Conifeir, in his dark green jumpsuit, was at eye level. His eyes widened and he started squeaking, realizing what she was about to do.
Before she could blow him off into next week, Conifeir hastily turned back into his human form, falling on top of her back, his iridescent wings fluttering wildly. It appeared that fairies couldn't use their wings in their bigger form.

Conifeir gave a wicked smile and got up, "I have to admit, you are quite clever, princess. You're more of a warrior princess."
Alya felt her cheeks warm, turning pink, but she stopped herself from taking it any further. Well, she tried, but her heart was using her ribcage as a punching bag as she stared back at Conifeir.
"So," Alya said, rolling onto her feet. "How strong is this Briar guy, exactly?"
"So," Alya said, rolling onto her feet. "How strong is this Briar guy, exactly?"

Ayla stumbled back, her mind swirling like swordfish in a small bowl. "From me?" she breathed, blinking hard. How? Was she his weapon? Merely a device, a source?
Conifeir nodded, his brows knit together with thought. "Maybe... maybe you're not ready to hear this conversation... what's your name?"
"Ayla," she replied, mouth still dry. "Promise me, I'm ready. I come from Leaga, you know."

"Ayla," she replied, mouth still dry. "Promise me, I'm ready. I come from Leaga, you know."

"I told you, I come from Leaga," Alya hissed. She crossed her arms, the dagger still hanging loosely from her hands. "I've survived the raids. The plagues they send out. I'm still alive."
Conifeir squinted, then chuckled. "Plenty have."
Alya shook her head. "Not all of them have burned down a whole legion of the Auivi," she shot back, creating the image of marching troops, the soldiers like skeletons, in her hand with fire.

"I am?" Alya said, cocking an eyebrow. Her teasing smile fell and the fire licking her hand like a friendly dog dissipated. "I wonder what she was like."
Conifeir smiled softly, sitting down on a log and patting the space next to him. "I'll tell you."

Conifeir began, "Your mother was brave, clever, and caring. She acted as if she was my own mother. My real parents and I aren't in the...best relationship. But anyways, she was amazing. She started training with a bow and arrow at age 8 and became better than her mentors at age 16. When her parents died, she took over and became a queen. She ruled for 20 years and the kingdom thrived. But then...she did the unthinkable. She fell in love with a worthless mortal. They got married and had you."
Conifeir's voice hardened, "But then your father showed his true colors. He turned out to be Briar. He went and killed your mother out of the want for power, stole her immortality, and now rules."
Alya's eyes widened, "He killed my mother?"
Conifeir nodded hesitantly, "Rumors say she's still alive, waiting for you, Alya."
(idk...i think we need some filler to even out the information so that alya can think and process this stuff)
Alya bit her lip, staring at the ground as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
"I know, but... I don't really understand. I mean, if the Auivi knew who I was, why didn't they use me as a weapon against the people of Leaga during the raids? Or why didn't they turn me in to Briar?"
"Because they were waiting."
"For what?" Alya asked, dreading his answer.

Okay! I was reading things I didn't see in this uh thread thingy. Probably my fault for not reading closer xd.
(i'm continuing the book part) But he didn't answer. He only stared off into space. Conifeir was so difficult, Alya thought. Never giving her a straight answer.
Ayla sighed, shifting her eyes to the ground again. Then, her brain sparked with a memory. Hushed voices. The clack of bones. Her mind racing as she realized the Auivi were right outside her door. The hour she escaped.
Had they been waiting for the lights she had seen earlier? Had the Auivi simply been anticipating a signal to burst in and kill her under the government's command? She didn't want to believe it, but the memory was so fresh and vivid.

Only meant to be used, only meant to be used. Alya's breaths came out shallow and cold and she doubled over. Only then did Conifeir snap out of his trance and hurry to her side.
"Alya? Alya, are you okay?"
His fingers brushed against her back and she flinched, her breathing quickening. "J-just panicking a little, that's all." Alya mumbled as she turned away, forcing her breathing to even.

Alya shivered, her breath coming out in shaky fits. "Auivi." she managed, her voice just barely a whisper. Conifeir's eye widened.
"Bone fairies..." he said, getting only a nod from the princess beside him. "You thought you ran away that night. You didn't remember a thing about your past life until you reached that mountain peak, did you?"
Alya shook her head, her vision now blurred with tears. "Alya, this isn't good."
He helped her up, grasping her hand in his. “Alya, they track you. The Auivi track you, don’t you remember?”
Alya nodded vaguely, her mind a vortex of worry. Only meant to be used, to be controlled, to be tricked and taunted. She let out a shuddering breath as Conifeir scanned the horizon.
“We need to leave, or the Auivi will find you.”

Conifeir came very close to her, and slipped two daggers into one of her free hands. He took her other hand in his, an urgent look in his eye. "Princess, you have to leave Briar's Haven. I promise I will find you."
He began to leave, letting his hand start to slip out of Alya's. She didn't let go.
“No.” She stood up, tugging him toward her as she started down the sprawling green hills filled with the man-eating flowers. “I’m not sure you realize it, but I need you to come with me. I’ll be more safe with you.”
Conifeir set his jaw, grinding his teeth, regret clear in his eyes. “I don’t care about my safety. You don’t understand how important you are.”
Alya whirled around, facing Conifeir with a fiery determination in her eyes that made her face even more beautiful. “Clearly, you don’t understand how important you are, either.”

(WAIT if humans forget everything when theyre out of the haven we need to have her drink something to remember-)
(dw ill edit it in my prior comment)
(wait frick i didnt see that we commented at the same time ahhh)

"You're royal, too, Conifier! You have people who love you!" Alya exclaimed urgently.
Conifier spun around. "Alya, you are far more important than me." he says, he voice shaky.
"I'm not leaving you!" Alya said far too loudly, but she made her point. Conifier gave her a soft look. "I won't leave you..." she says, this time much more quiet. He takes a step towards her, and lifts her chin. Conifier gingerly wipes her tears from her cheeks with his thumb...time seemed frozen.
Then it finally happened. Conifier leaned down and placed a soft but passionate kiss on Alya's lips.
*but doesn't he have a girlfriend and like didnt this dude just kidnap her a few hours ago-*
