Lol. There was no price listed for the paperback on the Canadian site. Good thing too. I draw the line at anything over $850 :D :D

Jason | 486 comments This looks like fun, I will try and get on this, got it downloaded.

Amanda | 96 comments I just finished reading this book. I don't read much comedic-horror but this book was hilarious and silly. I laughed through the entire book. It was a very quick and easy read.

Char | 17459 comments Glad to hear you enjoyed it, Amanda! That was fast!

Robin I just got my Kindle copy. It’s going to be my first group read!

Jennifer | 450 comments Which horror film is Painter from? My brain is hurting trying to work it out. I recognise the rest but can't work it out. I can only think of the Candle Cove characters.

Jennifer | 450 comments Finished! So much fun!

Char | 17459 comments Ok, I'm starting this today! Is anyone still reading?

Michelle | 307 comments I'm around 50%. It's quite short so it didn't take long.

I really only got started on this on Monday. oh so wonderfully gross at times but also funny.
The Geiko chainsaw commercial keeps coming to mind:

That's my all-time fave commercial. "Head for the cemetery!!!"

You have good taste. It's one time Geico hit it out of the park.

Lisa | 620 comments I might have to get in on this, considering all of your great reviews...sounds like a fun one.

Michelle | 307 comments I'm at 85% and I'll finish tonight. I really wanted to like this but it just isn't for me :/

Question for those reading this - GR says the ebook is 108 pages but Amazon says 242. Which is correct?

Michelle | 307 comments Good question. My kindle won't recognize pages for this book for some reason. But it felt very short, so I'd guess 108 pages.

message 25: by Char (new) - rated it 3 stars

Char | 17459 comments I’d guess 108 as well-novella length.

message 26: by Char (new) - rated it 3 stars

Char | 17459 comments It’s fast paced, that’s s for sure. I’m about a quarter of the way through and it’s okay so far.
I’m guessing this is a tongue in cheek homage to Jason Vorhees?

Michelle | 307 comments I thought it would be Campy, but it feels more like a spoof.

message 28: by Char (new) - rated it 3 stars

Char | 17459 comments Exactly!

Elysa (ebees) | 35 comments Yeah, so far this one isn't quite for me either. It's short though so I'm going to keep at it.

message 30: by Char (new) - rated it 3 stars

Char | 17459 comments I'm at about 60% now and will probably finish at lunch time. It's okay and I've had the occasional laugh, but...meh. We'll see though, maybe it will finish off with a surprise ending?

So I bit the bullet and spent .99 of my Amazon credit on this. I have to agree with several others, it was amusing, but not really all that and a bag of chips. I think the author tried too hard to be funny in every sentence and fell flat because it.

I agree, Alan.

I wanted to like it more than I did. I mean, it was okay....but that's about it.

Manny (midnightmoss) | 6 comments I ended up DNFing this book at around 20 percent. The whole comedic aspect just didn't do it for me, and I agree with Alan and Char that it was too much. I would have liked it more if the humor was sprinkled throughout the novel instead of it being a full-blown comedy.

I would have appreciated more campiness like Michelle said. I'm not sorry I read it, but I won't be reading it again.

Badseedgirl | 1033 comments I'm late to the show... of course! I'm about 40% completed and so far I am really enjoying this one. Yes, it is very trope heavy, but that is why I am enjoying it so much. Very much reminded me of "Cabin in the Woods."
