Hi everyone! Does anyone know of ANY fantasy or dystopian or sci-fi novels with non-binary/genderqueer characters (or any who use they/them pronouns)? I don't think I've EVER seen any characters like me in a fantasy setting, only in books that are specifically about queer characters... but I sure would like to :) if they even exist :) otherwise I guess I'll just have to write my own representation, which will be a lot of work :)

In the Dragon Pearl there is a character named Sujin who uses they/them. In legendborn there is also a character named Greer who uses they/them.
I can't recall having seen any. It's definitely a place where literature needs to step up it's game and work on some degree of recognition.

I hope we'll see more representation in the coming years once we become less of a novelty and more of an established option for writing characters.
MooncakesThis is actually a graphic novel, which normally isn't my type, but it was really cute. It's about a hard of hearing witch and a non-binary werewolf (who also has magical powers).

That looks very cute, and I love graphic novels! Thanks for the recommendation :)
I can't actually think of any books with characters using they/them pronouns from the top of my head... that's actually pretty sad :(
hey! if you’ve read the soul eater manga or have watched the anime, i’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that crona is non-binary!
heyy it’s not a book but there’s a cartoon on netflix called she-ra that i’m obsessed with, it has a non binary rep and they’re called double trouble! they’re my fav character in she-ra!! it’s such a good show i really recommend it :)) she-ra has so much diversity and is honestly just an amazing show
