I liked Dylan and his snark but I waivered between liking and really disliking Gabe so thats why the rating.
I guess he came alright in the end and with the dogs he was cute, but he really didnt have a lot of redeeming features.

Liked this better than book 1. The MCs were much more likeable. Liked how Jude played at being Asa's assistant in the beginning and acting like an airhead. Also like Billy, a cute kid

Sometimes a book that I think I am going to LOVE, I end up just "liking"... grrr
I will admit that I expected more... more feels... more mystery... more exciting characters... more follow-through on a few loose threads. But, what I don't understand is if the workmanship was so excellent that the author spent literally chapters on the reno of Levi's house... why was the workmanship so shoddy in the cellar? Just wondering...
I did find the story entertaining so trust me, I will be jumping right into The Quiet House NOW!!! *grin*

This was a re-read for me and I see why I gave it five stars. I just loved everything about this book. Oz's interview was freaking hilarious and so was just about everything that followed. Then I wondered why I marked it "kinky sex" and then I hit about 95% and I realized, oh yeah, the shower scene. Definitely a winner. Definitely one of my favorite authors and I know I'll always laugh and come away a happy camper.

Review:
Love this book! The characters and humour are so much fun, with two deeply creative and intelligent MCs and a most beautifully portrayed little boy who steals your heart from the first.
There's a bit of obstinate blindness by MC Jude with regards to his past, but the banter and dialogue overrides all slight annoyance, and I was left a very happy reader.
Narrated by Joel Leslie - 5 stars. In his element.

Evil... that was the word of the day for this book. Same characters, just a different house. I did enjoy the story, but like with the first one, was a bit disappointed. :(
Wondering if there will be a 3rd book...

Review:
This was written in 2013, and, I would say, early on in TJK's writing career. The book is looooong and I found parts interminable - they just kept going, and going, and going. SO much internalised thoughts... Because of this, I tuned out quite a bit; never-ending verbosity drowned out much of the drama and connected sadness for me. Not a win, but the plot line was actually quite interesting.
