This book sounds great. Do you think it is better suited for upper elementary or middle school?

It depends on the state, but usually students turn 10 before they enter 5th grade. I consider 4th grade to be the lower end of the middle grades/school.

Thanks to publishing deadlines, my own reading was on the skimpy side last month, but I do have two titles to share. Silver Batal and the Water Dragon Races by K.D. Halbrook is an amazing fantasy series starter, and I finally got around to reading The Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste, which is a tense tale with a folk lore feel. Good stuff!
