I do hear you on that account, Alicia. It's good days and bad days here. I never know which. Lots of stuff going on with my not quite 16 yr daughter ( none of it good). I am exhausted most days but I'm going to try the challenge and see what happens.No worries about passing on another challenge.

So I should have read the other series (the witch court one) first as I guess it would lay more back story to this book.
That being said I think I got through this and figured it out OK.
I like Beckett hes addictive, curious to see how that goes.
I like Astrid, love that name for a start and I liked her.
Wasn't too much shes super duper and her powers don't really show, hopefully it gets better so shes less a dud and actually powerful.

I did and I didn't like this.
One thing is this is a cliffhanger. Not sure the reasoning. Could have just written this book longer and worked the big 'shocker' (lets be honest we saw that coming right?) into this book instead of I guess spreading it to another one.
I'm never a fan of romances that have to go across two books, I like romance series but more when its one couple per book and not the same couple each book just seems to be stretching my attention and I don't have a lot of that.
The other thing is I just didn't really like Rush. I liked the chemistry between them but he was the 'I'm scary you should be scared of me' but I didn't get why? Like yeah you're a jerk but that is it?
God the more I'm writing this the more I realise I'm talking the rating lower and lower.
To summarise, I didn't like the cliffhanger, I don't enjoy (view spoiler) and I think I expected more from this duo authors. Feeling a little disappointed actually.

review: This is a cute story. I like how Madden-Mills portrays her female main character. Penelope is smart, loves to read, is an aspiring writer and is trying to find her way (maybe a little "lost") but at the same time knows what she wants. Ryker is a football player and although Penelope stereotypes him, he shows her that there is more to him ( kind, caring, sweet) which makes for a sweet hea. Lots of humor, a few steamy scenes and Penelope's pet bird all add up to an entertaining read!

Sorry, you didn't enjoy it as much! We all definitely have our tropes or scenes that we just don't like/enjoy. Hopefully, your next one you like more.

Another funny and OTT story about a bunch of hockey players and their girls. In this book, the guys want to get bonding tattoos (the book crosses over with the Clipped Wings series) and the girls get in on the action. It's short, sexy and hilarious.

I loved this.
I was sad to put it down. I'm sad its finished.
This author just writes books I seem to always love.
I want more about her creator and maker. I hope the author goes into more detail about that for this series otherwise I think it may get a bit boring to read but otherwise I'm addicted.

A shorty in the Shifters Unbound series. Spike finds out he's a dad from a fling he had with a human 5 years ago, and his newly found son comes to live with him when the mom dies. Her BFF comes to check things out and you know what happens after that. There is lots of intrigue and excitement with other stuff going on in Shiftertown - great book!

Review: This series continues to be pretty damn good. The characters in this one were great, even though there was a bit of insta-love and the heroine was sorta oblivious to reality. But it was a sweet love story that I really enjoyed.

review: I have read a few shifter books before but not a lot. I think I might have liked this even more then I did if I had not read this book out of order. Action, romance and humor my favorite ingredients in a book. The cub's antics were cute; especially the scene in which he was climbing the tree. Looking forward to going back and reading this series.

I was mostly fine with this book for most of the way through but then the whole not being able to shift while having a cut on her foot. I just went blergh.
The rest of the book, the last 40% sadly dragged and I'm sorry but I'm not interested in the instant love and the super duper girl who is special. Nah cannot be bothered.

This was a cute and sexy story. Valentine French is a wealth New York blogger who is fed up with the metrosexuals of NYC. She takes a trip to Alaska to find a "real man." Logan Burke is the sheriff in the small town Valentine ends up in, and is witness to her escapades until she ends up in his bed. It was fun watching Valentine navigate a totally alien territory

Review: Another case of insta-love, like less than a two weeks for crying out loud. But the story was filled with the fun and quirky characters Lucy Lennox is known for, which saved this from being a total wreck. Truman and Sam were adorable together, and it was great to finally see Truman take a stand and start to believe in himself. I also *really* enjoyed seeing the bad guy finally get what he deserved. I felt like cheering out loud when Truman punched the guy in the nose. It's because the characters are so great that I gave this 4 stars and will definitely be picking up the next book.

As I've started the other series first I think I'm more inclined to stick with this so I can read that one but really this was good but not sure I'd have read on otherwise.
