Task Task 12 - 73. Read a minimum of 1500 pages in books by the same author, teams decide author
Book/cover link: Irish Rebel

Page numbers with source: GR/295 pages
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary: Author Nora Roberts

Rating/Review: 3 stars
Meh. Nora Roberts is hit or miss for me, and this one was just okay. Brian Donnelly is a horse trainer who takes a job at Royal Meadows, a farm in Maryland. Keeley Grant's parents own the farm, and Brian sees her as a spoiled princess. He quickly learns she more than that, and she learns that Brian is just more than the hired help. This book was written over 20 years ago, and I've gotten used to sexy scenes being more than a bunch of euphemisms. I listened to the audiobook and, although the book sounded like the pair were pretty young, Brian sounded like an old guy in the narration.

Review: So this started out pretty good. I really enjoyed Breen learning about herself and then standing up for herself and doing things that made her happy. I even liked the part where she discovered her heritage and learned about her father's side of the family. The problems began when that part of the story just dragged on and on. I got bored. There just wasn't enough action to sustain such a long book, which was too bad, because otherwise it was pretty good.

I have an 8 year old Westie x Lhasa Apso and a 5 month old Pembroke Corgi :-)
Hes been a pain sleeping this week maybe the weather changing has him mixed up.

review: I prefer Nora Roberts writing as J. D. Robb but pick up an occasional book by her to fit a challenge and this one was definitely a favorite. Main characters Ro and Gull are fire jumpers which I found very interesting. This book was intense, sweet, fast paced and just a great read. My only compliant was that I figured out the "suspect" early on.

Review: I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed this. My previous experience with this author had him in the solid three star range, but this story felt much more developed and not as corny as the other books I've read. The characters were more mature and likeable, and I really enjoyed the parts about hiking in the Smoky Mountains, somewhere I've always wanted to visit. There are more stories in this series, so I'm definitely going to give them a try as well.

Evie doesn't want to get married, but when she starts getting pressured, she picks a man who wants to leave the country. Stuart, the Duke of Margrave, is on the verge of losing his estate, when Edie proposes marriage. He wants to move to Africa, and agrees to go there and not return in exchange for marrying Evie and her paying off the family debits. Five years later, things change for Stuart and he returns to England, and Evie is not happy with him breaking their deal. But Stuart wants a real wife and family and he's determined to win Evie over. I liked Evie and Stuart, and loves his attempts to win her heart.

Review: I enjoyed this a lot. Mason and Denny are wonderful together, even if Mason suddenly realizing he’s bi after all this time seemed a bit far fetched. But it’s fiction, so it’s all good. I’m looking forward to the next book for sure.

London Watson is a Broadway actress who is recovering from an injury that happened in a house fire that killed her parents. She's gone to her parent's home on Martha's Vineyard to recuperate, where she meets next door neighbor Finn Cavanaugh. The two start a romance but it seemed very awkward to me. I never really warmed up to London - she seemed very stand-offish to the point where she was jeopardizing her own safety to be independent. Also, the designer name dropping was a bit much and totally unrelatable.

review: Four books in and this series just keeps getting better and better. Jam packed with lots of action (arson, murder, car accidents, injuries) I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I like the relationship between Lance and Morgan and I 'm excited to see what happens with Sharp and Olivia. Unfortunately, book 6 ends this series so I am getting close to the finish.

This was good, but... I felt it was wrapped up too quickly, she gave in quite easily I think it could have done another 20 pages or so and given the ending a bit more fleshing out to really finish the story off.
Still liked the romance and the flash backs to past mixed into the present were nice. I enjoyed the past parts probably more.

Review: I didn't think I was a fan of fake relationships but apparently I am. This was a cute story where Sunny meets Max a football player who she doesn't like but secretly she does as he is the same person who rescued her from a car accident a few years back. They meet (again) and enter their fake relationship almost immediately. Lots of witty banter, funny scenes and a bit of suspense as someone locks Sunny in the library basement all with a HEA.

I’m getting some, but it doesn’t seem like all of them are coming through. I only had two this morning, and that was from this group.

2 four star reads for the recommendations. We are on a roll!

I found this, anyone interested in playing together?
I realized that all my challenges are going to end soon and I 'd like to play something

Nope its a shot in the dark when I get them. Seem to be very delayed. Glad you liked that book!
Ooh looks interesting, I'm not part of that group so would have to join. Ill have a proper read in the morning

Quinn Cavanaugh and Sienna Hendricks are attorneys on opposing sides of an estate issue. Because the issue is an old one, the judge orders the pair to work together, and their attraction to each other proves stronger than their ethics (which didn't seem to enter into this???) Although this book was better than the first one in the series, I again didn't really care for the female lead character. There was a bit of a mystery to this book, and I was surprised at the outcome

Review: I really liked this one. It was really emotional and intense in some places, but I really liked the two MCs and was rooting for them all the way. The villain was an honest to god bad bad guy, and I'm glad he got it in the end. I'm definitely going to pick up the other books in this series.
