Here is Mkat's answer to that question.... If it is a big city like London or New York, it is easy enough, but you are free to use the state if the home town is in the US or country if outside of the US.

My fault on that one, Alicia, I think I put California instead of LA :-)

Task 53 - Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
London, Canada, San Franciso, Los Angeles- I think I would go with LA.

I like LA too, lots of actor romance stories set there. One of my favorite tropes is the famous person and their bodyguard. 😉

SandyL | 584 comments Sorry for the delay!

Mercy Thompson or Pamela Clare

50. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location.
New York

51. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task.
Lauren Landish, Julie Kagawa, Dannika Dark, Jayne Ann Kretz, Catherine Bybee

which author do we want?
Lauren Landish is good for me

California is good for me

54. Read 6 books set on a beach or in the mountains, teams decide which.
Thanks - beach is great!

Laura | 2514 comments My question regarding the male naked model to Mkat and her reply.....

Laura wrote: "Hi Mkat, for task 76. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item.- is male model showing bare chest specific enough for that task?"

Let me answer this by a couple of examples I remember giving with this task before to help everyone thinking about this task - a weapon is not specific, a gun is specific; jewelry is not specific, a necklace is specific. So, with those examples I would want something a little more specific than your example. But if you narrowed it down a little more - chest hair, six-pack abs or something, that would be better.

So if we rephrase to male model with 6 pack abs that should work for us.

message 59: by Megan (new)

message 63: by Laura (last edited Mar 15, 2021 03:14PM) (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Task 1: For EVERY TEAM!

With St. Patricks Day coming up, everyone is Irish! As a team select whether you are going to read books set in Ireland OR books with an Irish character OR books with a primarily green cover. Each teammate must read a book that fits the qualification selected, no pass for this task.

Please include the team selected qualification in your completion posts. Remember you need to include how you know your book qualifies! I need to know where to look to confirm your book, include any info or links as necessary. If choosing the primarily green cover, it needs to be over 50% green to be accepted. Don’t forget to use the first edition Kindle page count!

message 65: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1025 comments My vote before I go to bed is an irish character...

I'm sure I can find something green or set in Ireland if necessary

I found something.

Whiskey Prince, free on KU if I like it. Qualification in the precis.

message 70: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Qualification for Irish character is a little harder then I thought. What did you find Alicia?

I can't get a copy of Darkfever, quickly which was going to be my choice.

Sandy has neatly laid out shelves that fit all kinds of tasks. I looked at her Ireland shelf and found this one My Life in Shambles by Karina Halle , qualification in the precis.

Grr, I have that one in paperback-too bad it will take too long to mail it to you. I think I'm going to read a Nora Roberts book, either an In Death book or one of her contemporaries that has an Irishman in it.

Oh, I like Karina Halle. I've read some of her other books and thought they were pretty good.

message 74: by AliciaJ (new)

AliciaJ | 1869 comments Ok, I found one. Totally not Nora Roberts though. I'm going with The Hooker and the Hermit (Rugby, #1) by L.H. Cosway by L.H. Cosway. It ticks all the boxes for me 😊

message 75: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Gah, foggy brain, I guess. In Death series never crossed my mind. I'm waiting for the latest installment.

I was tempted by that one, Alicia. I will add it to my tbr depending on what you think.

SandyL | 584 comments Hi! I'm sorry to be so late - I just got home from work. Going forward, if there is a decision to be made and I don't respond quickly enough, please make it without me. For the next few weeks my schedule is going to be a bit crazy and I don't want to hold any decision making up.

And Irish character works great for me :-)

BTW - I loved both My Life in Shambles and The Hooker and the Hermit! If I can't find another book, I'm going to re-read one of these!!

Laura | 2514 comments I forgot the posting format so looked that up. It's posted below. Can everyone include a broken link to their book to make copying purposes easier for MKat, me and whoever makes the team completion post? The broken link is a link to the book you read with the asterisk in front of the link.
i.e. [*book:My Life in Shambles|45020886]
(if you are copying the broken link, don't forget to delete the asterisk)

Information required when posting your completion/s:

Task
Book/cover link
Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

No apologies necessary, we are all in different time zones so time zones along with RL are going to play a factor in our response time. It's why we try to figure out as many team tasks as we can beforehand. I second what you said, Sandy, If there is a decision to be made and I don't respond quickly then please go ahead and make a decision without me.

Irish character

My Life in Shambles by Karina Halle
pages: 350 kindle edition
qualification- Irish character, see precis " ...with Padraig McCarthy, one hell of a sexy Irishman. "
read: March 16
rating: 5 stars
review: It's always nice to start the first book of a challenge with a bang. This was definitely it. Hot, steamy scenes between the main characters but also a story of love, family, hardship and hope. I am looking forward to reading more by Karina Halle.

Irish character

Book/cover link: The Hooker and the Hermit The Hooker and the Hermit (Rugby, #1) by L.H. Cosway
Page numbers:339/GR--kindle edition
How book qualified: See Precis "The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)"
Date Completed:3/16
Rating: 4 stars
Review: Great read. This story had me cracking up out loud, enough to make my boyfriend look at me funny. But there were enough tender moments between Ronan and Annie to give the story depth and keep me interested to find out what happens next. Annie's back story was pretty heartbreaking, so watching her come out of her shell and be brave was amazing and had me cheering for her, and for her and Ronan as a couple. They were seriously great together, as well as scorching hot. And since this is a series, I am going to see if I can find the second book at my library right now.

Date Completed. 3/16/21
Rating/Review. 4 Stars. This was a great marriage of convenience story, with the MC's marrying to allow the guy to stay in the country. I thought the book would be predicable, but I was happily surprised.

Irish character
Beautifully Cruel Beautifully Cruel (Beautifully Cruel, #1) by J.T. Geissinger
pages: 310 kindle edition
qualification- Irish character - Tagged Irish by 6 users (not me)
read: March 17
rating: 4 stars
review: What an interesting romance.
I find myself these dark romances and I don't intend to. I wouldn't call myself a 'dark romance' gal and yet here I am reading a mafia inspired romance story.
I really enjoyed it too. Sex scenes are epic, the romance is a little eh but still pretty good.
I've read darker romances, this is still up there but not as bad as it could have been. Their romance is a little unconventional because he pursues her but doesn't at the same time so its a lot of back and forth for a while.
