Review: I think this is one of my favorites in the Mercy Thompson series. It features a lot about the fae and really focuses on Aiden, the little boy who isn't, that has claimed sanctuary with the Pack. We also get to learn a bit more about Sherwood Post, another character that really fascinates me. I can't wait to learn more about him. And of course, there's battles, blood, and some gore, but it's not overwhelming and edge of your seat like in previous books. This one left me feeling satisfied and ready for the next adventure, without having to take a break to get my heart rate back to normal.

review: Another great book in this series by Patrica Briggs. I like how she interweaves this series with the Mercy Thompson series and has characters cross over. I loved the magic, the strength of pack bonds, Anna & Charles' relationship, the humor between Anna and Tag, Leah's back story and the ending which will set up the next few story arcs in both series.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, and I was happily surprised to enjoy it so much. Anna Kate inherits her grandmother's cafe in a small Alabama town. Her mother left the town while pregnant with Anna Kate, and never returned before she died. Anna Kate meets family her mother despised, and now has to deal with those feelings. She also finds some strange goings on with some blackbirds that roost in the mulberry trees in her backyard. The story also follows Natalie and her struggles to overcome the death of her husband as well as come out from under the shadow of her brother's death (Anna Kate's father) so many years ago. I loved the legend of the blackbird pie and the mysterious ways things seemed to happen in the town, especially in bringing people together.

THanks Sandy, hope you are too 😊

It's not a great weekend here. We are on day 4 of a 2 week circuit breaker lockdown. After a year of successfully keeping covid cases to a minimum after the intial outbreak our cases are spiking rapidly. Hopefully, the lockdown will help reduce cases.
We watched Greenland tonight. It was good but another end of the world movie. See one you've seen them all.

Review: This is my second Jennifer Ashley book, another book from the same series but again read out of order. I loved this book! It started off with Elizabeth having a gun pointed at her and being robbed at her store. What a great first page to read. I was hooked from there. Ronan, is such a sweet guy that you are immediately rooting for him to win Elizabeth over despite her trust issues. Throw in that Ronan is a shifter and you have lots going on in this short book. I really need to read this series in order! I can't wait to read more

I'm sad this series is at an end (I've already ready book #11.) This series is a bit confusing, in that the later books go back in time, but I really liked Will and Josie. Will is trying to restore the MacKenzie's at Kilmorgan castle, and he joins Josette Oswald, his former lover, in a search for lost gold in the Highlands. There is lots of adventure and sexy times and humor and sadness in this book. I loved it when Will was impersonating an English gentleman - hilarious!

Task 24 - 92. Read over 1500 pages in books set in the future or the past - teams decide.
As a team decide whether you are reading books set in the future or the past and then read books totaling at least 1500 pages with the selected setting. Tags of 'futuristic' or 'historical' are good for qualification, depending on which is chosen. If using dates, they would need to be at least 25 years to the future or the past to work. Please don't forget to let me know how you know your books qualify, with any necessary information or links - I need to know where to look to confirm your books. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

Review: My first Anne Cleeland historical, but definitely not my last. This takes place right after the first Napoleanic war has ended, and Britain has gone all gaga over the Egyptian tombs and artifacts. There's a mysterious man, an intrepid girl, lots of suspense and of course, a deathly curse! It's awesome. Reminded me a lot of the The Mummy with Brendan Fraser. I loved it.

Another fun book in the Girl Meets Duke series. Penelope Campion just wants to live in peace with all her animals, but her new neighbor, Gabriel Duke, as well as her family, want her and her menagerie gone. At first she and Gabriel are at odds, but as they get to know each other, the see things each other hides from the world. I loved the humor as well as how the background and personalities of the MC's were revealed. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

While this was good. I do find this series hard to get into at the start.
The murders and mysteries are always interesting and intriguing enough to get me interested but then it never really kicks off and the book sort of ebbs along for a few hundred pages before we get into the actual interesting parts.

You know how sometimes you struggle with a book because you HAVE to read it for a challenge and you really just want to read all your other books....that was me last night. Luckily, I am enjoying the book.
On the bright side....we are less then a week away from the end of the challenge then we can read whatever we want.🙂

review: I read this book for a challenge and it turned out to be an entertaining book. Mac and his estranged wife Isabella have an interesting marriage. Three years ago several events caused Mac and Isabella to part ways. Lots of character growth for both and some funny and sexy scenes make for a light, fun read. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Books selected for this task need to be initially published in a year one member of the team joined RRRC (not GR), the teams decide which member. You can find the year you joined RRRC on the members page for the group. Make sure you use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected teammate, the year they joined RRRC and the initial publication date of you chosen books in your completion posts.

This was the best book of the series. Nora Hayes has been executive assistant to Carter Shaw for 10 years. All of a sudden, they are looking at each other with different eyes and realize they are attracted to each other. They have to navigate an office romance, a petty HR director, and life with Carter's young daughter, as well as a health scare - lots going on in a short book

review: I loved the last series I read by Melinda Leigh so I was excited to try another series by her. It's interesting to see a few similarities. (Colorful characters, homicide) It is always fun to get immersed in a new set of characters and this one didn't disappoint. Bree suspects her sister is in trouble after she receives a voice mail from her. No reply leaves her feeling uneasy and off she goes to help her sister who she finds out is murdered. Bree has new responsibilities that include caring for her niece and nephew while she teams up with a former deputy to help find the killer. Lots of action and suspense!
[*book:Cross Her Heart|52276782]

PLEASE TAKE NOTE! ‼️
With the challenge ending on Tuesday, May 11th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Sunday, May 9th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!
**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**
‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books!
As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️

review: I enjoyed book 2 of this series. I like Bree, she is a strong female lead with flaws. Despite being new to her role as Sheriff she is a good fit for the job. With the help of her team and new investigator, Matt they solve the murders and catch the killer. I like that 2 books into the series we are seeing friendships and relationships grow and develop along with the suspense and murder mysteries. This one was a little more gruesome than the last book. I love the minor crossovers from characters in her other series. ( Both Stella & Morgan make brief appearances) Looking forward to book 3.

Jim Steele wants to get his wife back. They've been separated for months, and when he sees his wife out with another guy, he realizes he needs to do everything he can to reconcile. It was fun watching Steele try to win her back. That said, this wasn't my favorite book in the series - it was enjoyable but there wasn't anything really exciting about it
