I will be reading one of these three books: Enchantment by Camille Peters Added to Goodreads staff favorites list Feb 9, 2021
A Proper Charade by Esther Hatch Added to goodreads staff favorites list Feb 9 2021
Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga On library website staff picks.
The book I pick depends on which one I get first. Looking forward to reading all of these eventually!
Ooh, sounds fun. The only one of those I have read is Other Words for Home. And it is SO GOOD. It made me cry. It's actually a Children's Fiction Beehive Nominee. It's a novel in verse, and I loved it.

Are any of them picture books? Annnnnnnd, the answer is YES! I will read Plume by Isabelle Simler. The cover looks realling interesting.

I LOVE PLUME!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥
I LOVE PLUME!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥
I wanted something short so I went to the children's section of the list and read Mercy Watson Fights Crime. I have only read part of the Mercy Watson books, but out of those I think I like "Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride" best.
I've been meaning to pick up the Lady Sherlock series, so I was pretty happy to see A Study in Scarlet Women on the list. It was pretty fun. I liked the flouting of conventions while still having to live inside of them.

The art is so great. :)

I read a lot of picture books. Bear Came Along
SumoKitty
Grumpy Monkey
The Rabbit Listened particularly good
This Is the Nest That Robin Built
Interrupting Chicken
Oh, the Places You'll Go!
What Do You Do with an Idea?
The Giving Tree
The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors
Peter & Ernesto: A Tale of Two Sloths
Since I am reading several other books and don't have time to read The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise (I have a physical copy on the table next to me), I'll reread several of these picture books with my son this week.
I read The Night Circus, which was a reread for me. I liked it even better the second time; true escapist read!
Becky wrote: "I read The Night Circus, which was a reread for me. I liked it even better the second time; true escapist read!"This is on my "perhaps one of these days" list. Sounds like I need to move it to my "sooner rather than later" list!
I listened to "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue," by V. E. Schwab, instead of "The Dutch House," which I'll listen to another time.
I just finished Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga. I am so glad this book was recommended. It is such a good read! Fair warning, your emotions will be pulled at.
I just finished Enchantment by Camille Peters from the Staff Picks Goodreads list. It is an engaging retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I am definitely going to have to look at this list more often. I have loved 2 of 2 picks so far.
Audrey wrote: "I read Today I Am Carey. I met the author at FyreCon, where he talked about it."What an interesting premise of a story.

Essentially it covers 80 years of a family.
Britt, Book Habitue wrote: "Squeaking in at the last minute- I just finished Other Words For Home and it was beautiful."Whee! Good for you, Britt! Just in the Tick of Nime.

It changes about twice a month, and all books were read by library staff and given either 4 or 5 stars. There are lots of different types of titles included in the list.
We also have a Staff Favorites page on Goodreads:
https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/3...
This has staff favorites listed all the way back to 2010, when the list started.
For March, read a Staff Favorite. Let me know if you liked it too.
Good luck!
