The characters all had some sort of machinery that they called their parents and I think they spoke. I remember one scene where you could see a group of people all racing on weird motorbike/car things and the character said that they were racing their parents.

The plot was mostly centred around this kid who made friends with another teenager at his school. The second teenager had something wrong with him though, he had a dial over his heart and you could change the dials to make him make sense (?). I believe the plot was leading up to something along the lines of 'when he is on his highest dial he can understand things we can't and the dial is actually holding him back/restricting his thoughts'.
