MountainKat | 31599 comments Hi Mony! Here are your picks. 📚 I hope I found some good ones for you, for the new ones I tried to stick to the style of what you've been reading lately and by what you said in the favorites part of your profile. I have read all of the new to you picks and rated them highly, and most of them I listened to the audio and enjoyed that as well. 😊

1. Only day to balance a raw egg on its end! 🥚
TBR: Whiskey Wild by Jen Talty
NEW: The Darkest Hour by Maya Banks - I started to recommend The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton here, but saw in my review that I I had just finished The Darkest Hour and liked it better. Both are very good, though quite different. In the mood for steamy sports series, I loved the Play by Play series. But... I love those Kelly boys in the KGI RS series! I don't think you could with either option.

2. Equinox means “equal night” 🌃
TBR: Bitter Heat by Mia Knight
NEW: Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian - A very different world from J.R. Ward's BDB, but similar in the intensity. Another long running vampire series, I find them very good!

3. Occurring on March 21st, 2021 📅
TBR: Ruthless Creatures by J.T. Geissinger
NEW: Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione - The author builds a world full of shades of gray, there is no black or white here. The 'good guys' aren't all good and the 'bad guys' aren't all bad. One series flows into several interlinking ones - all in the same world, making for a very good, but complex series full of demons, demon hunters, angels, fallen angels and even the Horsemen of the Apocalypse!

4. Equinox brings about a change in seasons 🌲🌼
TBR: Virtual Reality by Auryn Hadley and Kitty Cox
NEW: Year One by Nora Roberts - So different from Nora Roberts typical series, but one of the best she has ever written!! I was hesitant to read it after reading the precis, it seemed too close to reality at the beginning of the pandemic, but I can't stop recommending it! Truly a wonderful trilogy!

5. A gateway to hell 👿
TBR: Heartless by Mary Balogh
NEW: Surrender by Pamela Clare - One of the best HR books/series I have ever read! Set in frontier America, it is very different from the typical HR set in England. Historically accurate and a wonderful romance too! I just started a reread of this series and can't wait for the next!

6. The Cybele Cult 💃🥂
TBR: The Hitman's Guide to Making Friends and Finding Love by Alice Winters
NEW: The Dom Who Loved Me by Lexi Blake - One of my favorite RS series with a little kinky steam too!

7. Other planets have equinoxes too 🌎
TBR: Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
NEW: Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison - You recently loved Dragon Bound, so I am going to recommend you continue the series! It's not Pia and Dragos, but they do show up and the rest of the series is wonderful!

8. Mysterious river waves 🌊
TBR: The Witness by Nora Roberts
NEW: Hard as It Gets by Laura Kaye - Another wonderful series! I think this author writes incredibly well!

Well, I obviously felt like adding novels instead of small comments - that is just what happens when I love the books I am picking! 📚🤷🏻‍♀️😊

Happy Reading!

Romanticbookworm | 410 comments Hi Jimmie here are your picks for the month.

March PIFM

1. Only day to balance a raw egg on its end! 🥚
Folklore claims that special magnetic or energetic changes on the day of the equinox make it possible to stand a raw egg on its end. As cool as this sounds, it’s a myth. You can balance some raw eggs on their end, but you could do it any time of year.

Recommend a book with an MC from the food industry OR
Recommend a book with a character who is a klutz OR
Recommend a book with a fitness freak MC (can be a sports romance)

TBR - Outlander Kitchen Outlander Kitchen To the New World and Back Again The Second Official Outlander Companion Cookbook by Theresa Carle-Sanders
New - Grinder Grinder (Seattle Sharks, #1) by Samantha Whiskey (sports) or Sweet Talk (Bakery Sisters, #1) by Susan Mallery (Food)

2. Equinox means “equal night” 🌃
The word “equinox” comes from the Latin for “equal” and “night,” because as the sun crosses the equator (Earth’s midline point) the hours of daylight and night time are very nearly equal.

Recommend a book with a dark cover OR
Recommend a book with a dark element in it (drugs, abuse, kidnapping etc)

TBR - Reluctant Viking The Reluctant Viking (Viking I #1) by Sandra Hill (dark cover)
New - Lord of Winter Lord of Winter (Fae of Darkness, #1) by Ana Calin (dark cover)

3. Occurring on March 21st, 2021 📅

Recommend a book with 2 or 1 in the publication date or page number OR
Recommend a book with a second chance romance (2) OR
Recommend a book with insta love/ love at first sight (1)

TBR -Ice planet Barbarians Ice Planet Barbarians (Ice Planet Barbarians, #1) by Ruby Dixon (insta love)

New - Faes Captive Fae's Captive (Fae's Captive, #1) by Lily Archer (insta love)

4. Equinox brings about a change in seasons 🌲🌼

Recommend a book which depicts one of the four seasons (summer, spring, autumn, winter) on the cover OR
Recommend a book with a character turning over a new leaf/ reinventing themselves OR
Recommend a book tagged “fantasy”
TBR - Falling Kingdoms Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1) by Morgan Rhodes (fantasy)
New - Until Friday Night Until Friday Night (The Field Party, #1) by Abbi Glines (four seasons)

5. A gateway to hell 👿
Legend has it that a small town in Kansas, hosts a gateway which is one of several places around the world where the devil himself can enter the human world. He can only do it twice a year, and one of those days is the vernal equinox. (Yes, the other is Halloween.)

Recommend a book where the MCs think its hell to be with each other (enemies to lovers) OR
Recommend a historical romance book

TBR - Kingdom of Dreams A Kingdom of Dreams (Westmoreland, #1) by Judith McNaught (Historical)
New - Silken Savage Silken Savage by Catherine Hart or The Beast of Beswick (Everleigh Sisters, #1) by Amalie Howard (historical)

6. The Cybele Cult 💃🥂
For a certain group of ancient Romans, the vernal equinox was a day to celebrate the deity Cybele, a goddess closely associated with nature and fertility. There were wild parties, dancing, drinking, and sex in her honour.

Recommend a book with a festive event OR
Recommend a book tagged “Steamy” or any variation/synonym of the word OR
Recommend a book with a pregnancy/baby/child in it.

TBR - Pestilence Pestilence (The Four Horsemen, #1) by Laura Thalassa (Steamy)
New - Lessons in corruption Lessons in Corruption (The Fallen Men, #1) by Giana Darling or Duke and I The Duke and I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn (steamy)

7. Other planets have equinoxes too 🌎
It turns out, we’re not the only planet that gets to experience an equinox. In fact, every planet in the solar system can have an equinox. The closest example is Mars, whose most recent equinox was on April 8th, 2020, bringing on the northern autumn.

Recommend a paranormal romance OR
Recommend a book with an MC having a unique or otherworldly name OR
Recommend a book initially published in 2020 or in April of any year

TBR - If I never met you If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane
New -Southern Chance Southern Chance (Southern, #1) by Natasha Madison

8. Mysterious river waves 🌊
Waves large and powerful enough to surf on typically only occur in oceans or massive lakes. But during extreme tides—usually after a new or full moon—waves known as “tidal bores” can pop up in rivers. The biggest and most surf able tidal bores take place during the spring and autumn equinoxes.

Recommend a book tagged “mystery/suspense/thriller” OR
Recommend a book with a water body on the cover

TBR - Confessions on the 7:45 Confessions on the 7 45 by Lisa Unger (Mystery)
New Paper Girls Paper Girls (DCI Kett, #1) by Alex Smith (Mystery/Thriller) or on a cold dark sea On a Cold Dark Sea by Elizabeth Blackwell (water)

If you need any repicks just let me know. Happy reading ☺️

However I will see what I fancy come March 😀.

I think I picked for Nancy recently so I will go with Suzanne and let Nancy get someone different as don't want to risk giving her similar picks to what I give her recently although think I have picked for both in the past and I have similar tastes with both of them bookwise so some crossover bound to happen lol.
