Everyone's individual SS should now be fixed.

The leaderboards will reappear next Monday hopefully

That's an evil giggle if I've ever heard one.

So I signed up yesterday and am not yet on the master list. Should I keep checking back or are you adding new players en masse when sign ups close on the 10th?

Hi Bobbi! Are you a challenge junkie like me? :D
I think the mods will update the sheet soon as long as your signed up. :)

I'll be trying to make the sheets for new sign ups once a day, though that does depend a bit on how busy real life is! I know how much everyone wants to get going asap with challenges.

I'll make sure E gets the message - think she's concentrating on UNO atm.

I really am, Alyana haha. I had to make a centralized thread with links to everything just to keep track.

Is there a rule about when the book needs to be started? Can I use books I started in February but finished in March?

message 61: by Sophie, The other one (last edited Mar 02, 2021 10:48AM) (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5684 comments Mod
Since this is a competitive challenge, they have to be started after 00.00 utc on March 1st.

If you start books in March but finish them in April, they can be used for April.

Navi (nvsahota) | 730 comments Hi Mods! The point formulas in the Outside Leaderboard (Column F and G) need to be recalculated :)

message 64: by Bobbi (new)

Bobbi (schadenfreudian) | 463 comments Hi Mods,

Sorry, but I'm going to have to drop out. I'm fairly competent with spreadsheets (have to be for my job) but no matter how hard I try, I can't edit. My only "computer" until I get my school loans this fall is my kindle fire. I don't think that's the problem though, since I have no problem with the sheet for Around the World.

message 65: by Felicity (new)

Felicity Larrick | 3 comments This is my first time in this kind of challenge. I have a question. I looked at the leaderboard for my category (Edge) and noticed that I had 50 points but had not read anything yet. It looks like there are formulas to fill in the numbers but I'm not sure where my 50 came from.

message 66: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments For the task

Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as school - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

would "high-school" or "school books" work?

message 67: by Lisa - (Aussie Girl) (last edited Mar 04, 2021 11:34PM) (new)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments Hi Mods, I've also got an Edge leaderboard question.

I have read 3 books which come up on the all players spreadsheet but it is showing 0 points on the Edge one. I don't know anything about spreadsheet stuff, did I do something wrong?

Nothing I like better than searching for those tasks, so loving the Challenge so far.

The formulas on the leaderboards have been corrected and doublechecked. They should all be working now.

IMPORTANT

If you are having problems accessing your individual spreadsheet, the most likely reason is that only invited email addresses can edit them, but anyone with the link can view it. If you want to use it linked to an email address that isn’t the one you signed up with either invite yourself to become an editor or let the mods know so we can make your sheet available for anyone to edit.

Bookworm_gem (gembear) | 310 comments in regards to the requirements for each group, will you be checking these are met? and if not is their a penalty?

for example if someone reads only high point books but misses out on the 10 and 20 points they were required to read?

thank you :)

I will be checking through. If the requirements aren't met, the individual wouldn’t be eligible as a winner of their category.

Can we listen to the audio and use default pages, or does it have to be a print copy?

You can listen to the audio and use default. Not wanting to make things too complicated.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12853 comments found a slight issue with the spreadsheet. The task numbers in the dropdown box for April only go to 150, and the task options go to 169 ;)

(I have happily moved my book to a different task, but someone else may have their heart set on one of them, lol)

I got carried away with the tasks...

I'll work out what needs to be changed and post instructions for everyone to follow if they want to do those tasks.
