2021 Read-a-Thon #1: Team Rose

It's a really good book!"
I added it to my TBR shelf!

I also moved all the completed books on the planning tab to the right so they are grouped together.

I was confused since one of my books will work for "featuring protagonists at different stages of life" there are 2 pending books that fit, Kathy filled one spot, and a finished book somewhere else also works there but the # of options is showing 2. So, I think that means one a book takes a spot on the tracking thread our # of options decreases.

I'm expecting to finish Hamnet tomorrow for the "connected to Shakespeare" prompt.

Also, I think I got all the gray lines updated on the planning spreadsheet but I might have missed something.
I probably won't finish another book until Tuesday/Wednesday.

I don't think that's the case. When the columns were moved to the end, the formulas were not updated to include those new columns. The formula is just a simple sum. We can update the formulas to include those columns, or just keep them to only include books that aren't done.

Thanks, I was really confused why some of the # of options were so different from what was marked with an X.

For now, the formulas only include books that aren't done.

I think you could use "A book about fresh starts" because that is what she is doing - giving the children and adults she helps a fresh start in life. Also, possibly one/two books featuring an elderly character - since the main character is in her 80s when this book begins. I got an ARC copy in 2020. It was a 5 star read for me, and I'm pretty stingy with my stars.

I noticed that the GR page for the book shows 1942 and 2005 so it definitly fit the more than 10 years and so far no one has completed a book for that prompt and we need 3 (though I did not look closely to see if anyone has planned books).

Jillian I noticed that too, I'm not sure what's up with that column. I'd think it could just be deleted since it's empty.

Oh, whoops! That is probably exactly what happened. Sorry guys!

It fits for 2 people on the cover.
I was going to try and get one that fit more prompts, but I decided I really wanted to knock this one off as it's the last in a trilogy - that's not fantastic but it's the authors first works and I'm reading the later stuff and these guys feature so I wanted to go back and find out their story. And it's short, and I paid for it. And this year I want to get to reading the books I bought. Usually the challenge derails my purchased books and I get library books to fit the challenge....anyway, that was a long way of saying, I'm reading this cause it was the one I wanted to read next...

I think, you should definitely read a book you want to read. One read-a-thon, I read a terrible book just to count for a prompt. After that I decided I would just read books I wanted. Generally, they still fit somewhere and if not they still help earn wildcards.

I moved these to two separate rows, because now those prompts are complete!
I finished The Worst Best Man and put it under one of two for enemies-to-lovers.

Start with letter L - Little Beach Street Bakery
Feature pets - The Turn of the Key

I will definitely finish my two books in progress but not sure I'll finish more after that, maybe another audio if it's not too long (so NOT Parable of the Talents at 15 hours!).

I'm also halfway through Bloodlust & Bonnets for another book club but not sure where to put it. If all else fails I can put it down as "written by a female author", or I guess maybe "warm and fuzzy" if that's not too weird a description for a graphic novel about regency vampire hunters!

I'm going to slot this into the Travel book, since the main character travels between 2 worlds.

Thanks Jillian. And sorry about the covid situation for you - how stressful.
I've been offline for a few days so just updated my pages and finished Dawn of Love. I've put it in for 2 people on the cover.
Today I'm in for surgery so I may get some extra reading time in if there is a wait....

I’m hoping to finish both of my books tomorrow Heartless (for the heart prompt) and The House in the Cerulean Sea (pet or different ages prompt middle age).

That sounds like a good idea Jillian.

I like the idea of waiting to use the wildcards, as well. I don't really know where a book will fit until I finish it, and I will probably read at least 4 more before this ends.
