Introduce Yourself
>
Hi, my name is...

So glad to see you all here and read about your interests!

Thanks for inviting me. I read a broad range of books, but romance and mysteries are my favorites.
I used to write reviews for a couple romance websites, but had to drop out with my day job.
I have now been retired for almost 2 years. Although I have a wide range of activities to get out of the house, I still have more reading time.
My favorite authors are Linda Lael Miller, Susan Wiggs, Sherryl Woods, Debbie Macomber and Karen White.

My name is Paula I'm a mother to four autistic kids and one of those kids also has severe OCD, I got introduced to books at age 16 by an aunt of mine at the time back then was a mystery series I read as time moved on I got introduced to Harlequin with various books and authors I've read Debbie Macomber, Sherryl Woods, Robyn Carr, are some of the authors I've loved, then I came across Harlequin Teen and loved those just as much I'm also a book review/book blogger in my spare time. I love reading books and sharing authors with people in general and sometimes I even manage to get people to read Harlequin Books they didn't think they would like! Glad to be part of this group!

I'm a 40 year old wife of a steel hauler, homeschool mom, bookkeeping, animal rescuing, coffee - addicted author. I began reviewing four years ago for a few notable sites and then started my writing career three years ago.
My favorite genres to read are (in no particular order):
Paranormal RomCom
Cozy Mysteries
Contemporary Romance
Erotic Romance.
I look forward to getting to know all of you ♡

Nice to see you here! I have put a giveaway on the Harlequin giveaway list, only I couldn't get a cover pic to show. I hope that's OK.
Best wishes
Carol XX

Hi Carol! Intrigue Noir a miniseries the Intrigue line did over the holidays. The first one was in November. My debut ebook Call Me Tiffany was released then. I'm really excited about this new one, The Seduction of Lucy. Very dark, exciting, high tension and action. lol Very noir.

Go to my krisrafferty.com and you'll see how right you are! Under my book section, I talk about how I decided to write the book. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! lol

Nice to meet you! I read romance since I was a teen also and can't seem to write anything without a romance focus.
I'm a new grandma with one little grandgirl.
I still reread classic Betty Neels romances that are years old but never go out of style.

Hi everyone. It is great to see so many new faces. I'm at a friend's house right now so I can't stay long but I just had to stop in and welcome you all.
One thing I say...
OMG Wendy Douglas! I remember your books! Recognized your name right away and am so happy to hear you are back to writing.
I did warn you all that my favorite genre is Historicals.
Another quick comments until I get home: my daughter is a Girl Scout and she loves it. One of her favorite things she has done with them was interviewing a couple of authors for one of her badges.
Congratulations Lyn on becoming a grandma!

My name is Sherrie Lowe and thank you for inviting me to join the group. I have read Harlequin books in the past. I like romance stories usually with a touch of the supernatural although not vampires and fantasy monsters, something about the afterlife usually gets my interest and I like to write that too. My book Angel Breaths which is narrated the spirit of a miscarried child is on its last free day(7th Feb)today. It is a controversial subject and won't be to everyone's liking but the idea came from a news item some years ago on abortion laws which asked the question, 'At what point does a baby have a soul?' It got me thinking and I wondered if it were as early as conception - or even before, what comes first, the soul or the cluster of cells - how would that soul feel if it were to be miscarried or aborted? My intention was that it would be comforting to anyone who has lost a child that early in as much as they may have gone to a lovely place and were being cared for by loved ones but don't take my own opinions on it, have a look and form your own.

I cross many genres with my writing, including romance, erotic romance, humorous, and genre fiction. My heart is in romance, and all of my work has a strong romantic element. Erotic Romance, however, pays the bills.
My books range from scorching hot boxers, military men, and outlaw bikers to heart warming young adults and on to tear jerking love stories.

I appreciate the invitation, and I am honored to be amongst such a group of romantics.

I have enjoyed reading Harlequin Books for a long time.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I've been an avid reader since Dr. Suess books, but my first experience with Harlequins was when a next door neighbour gave me a box of them after his wife passed away. I still vividly remember "Show Me" by Janet Dailey. I now devour Nora Roberts, JR Ward, Jill Shalvis, Jennifer Crusie and any others I can get my hands on!
I achieved a lifelong dream in January 2012 when my first romance was published, followed by my second in August 2014. You can find out more about me at www.brendamargriet.com.
I'm an active member of a wonderful group of published and unpublished authors called Romance Writers Weekly www.romancewritersweekly.wordpress.com/

Welcome to all the new members! It is great to meet you all. I hope to see you here during the next week. We've had over 50 authors say they would definitely be stopping in to say hi.
I do apologize for not be as active in here the past couple of days. It has been a very emotional weekend for me. I've been to two funerals, none for a family member but both for friends that I've known since the 80s. I've been relying on my romance books to help me escape my thoughts. Thank goodness Romance Week is about to start so I can be surrounded by HEAs.

Thank you Kris. BTW, I got a copy of The Seduction of Lucy for my sister as one of those "give a surprise at some time through the year" gifts. She loved it! I have 4 more people I'm supposed to surprise at some point this year. I'm thinking I'll probably be gifting books to them too.

And I read A LOT of romantic fiction from the UK, US, Australia, Canada ... I love romantic suspense authors such as Linda Howard and Suzanne Brockmann, also chick lit authors like Carole Matthews and Jill Mansell. I've devoured everything by Jill Shalvis and Jennifer Cruisie and don't care whether I read on paper or screen. I just read.

I read anything and everything. Contemporary romance and historicals are my go to when I want a love story. I also love what's happening with male-male and LGBT fiction and romance. There are so many ways to write about love.
I also read a lot of science fiction, fantasy, history and the odd thriller. The only thing I don't really read is horror.
My first book with Carina is due out on March 2 and I'm counting the days. It's called Chaos Station and is co-written with my partner in crime, Jenn Burke. Chaos Station is the first of a five book series that blends science fiction and romance (m/m). I'm thrilled that Carina and Harlequin support such diverse books.

I do apolog..."
Kim I'm so sorry for your loss my heart breaks for you, sometimes the loss of a friend is so much harder than losing a family member because friends are those we've chosen to love and be close to. I hope you do find some solace in your romance reading and the special memories you'll no doubt experience often. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Welcome and hello. Great to see more authors checking in with us. Please share often and I hope you can make this group a spot to share all your news here on goodreads.
Brenda, Drugging your kids? Wow! Scary! I'm sorry that is why you started writing but I have to say I am very happy you are an author. I'm very much looking forward to book #50!

Just a reminder to all the new authors stopping by to introduce themselves: make sure you stop in the WHY Romance? thread of conversation to tell us why you picked romance. I know I'm looking forward to hearing all the stories and so are all the romance fans here.

Hi Brenda, Wow congratulations!!!
See you're part of why Harlequin Makes the World Go Round :)

I think the first romances I read were in the old Silhouette Shadows line. Anyone remember those? I loved them and they introduced me to the genre of paranormal romance—which I adore. I also read science-fiction romance and contemporary romance, and romantic suspense is a favourite, too! So...that pretty much covers all romance, right?
In recent years, I've become a huge fan of LGBTQ romance and the diversity it offers. Love is love, and it's fantastic that Carina Press and Harlequin support that ideal.
Hi Jenn,
Some how I missed the Silhouette Shadow line. I'll have to look them up so I can add them to my wish list.
Some day you and Kelly will have to tell us about how you became co-writers.
Kim

It's a fun tale involving obsession with a video game character, much online chatting, and a suspicious U.S. border guard...we'll have to do a blog post!

Reading was my favorite thing to do as a kid, and I knew early on that to be a writer was my #1 dream. Took a long time for me to achieve that dream, but I persevered because it's worth it. :-) Contemporary romance, historical romance, time travel, sweet romance, spicy romance--I love to read them all!

My name is Dena and I'm an avid reader of many genres but I love to see romance in them all whether light or hot and heavy. Depends on my mood which romance I will grab too. I love the English Ton stories, pirates, highlanders and westerns. I'm pretty picky about my romance plot too. So if the synopsis doesn't grab me right away... I don't put it on my list to read.
I especially love to read all the above with real historical value mixed in with the fictional characters.
Bio: married 20 yrs, 2 children: a girl who will be 15 in May and a son who is 17. Both my children are readers... My son is now following my horror genre. My daughter is all over the place like me, but loves the Hunger Games series, Divergent series, The Fault in Our Stars type books. Over Christmas she decided (finally) to read the Harry Potter series and is head over heels in love with it.
I work at a small newspaper office and while I do the accounting, answer phones, greet customers (girl Friday), I get to write a weekly column for my local book club. Just recently my boss made me put a picture with my by-line. Not sure I like that.... but everyone in town just about knows me so I guess... I love to read and review books and chat about books that are here and those about to be released. I love helping people find their next best title to rave about. I love researching books!
My biggest love (genre) are mysteries featuring detectives, FBI profilers, and forensic chatter. When I've read a dark mystery, I like to grab a cozy mystery or a romance to tone things down a bit. The cozy mysteries usually have a romance going on too, so that's always good! I love series too!!!
I will confess: because I love pirate stories, I did download on my kindle a syfy gay pirate title and I enjoyed it very much. ;o)
