Last one to post wins!
I have the first 2 books in paperback and ebook! Luckily haha. I'll have to get book 3 asap though! And ideally reading them all when a series is complete is the best, but it never usually works out like that π I always yell at myself when I start a brand new series though literally with the release of book 1. The pain haha πππ I feel like starting mid series is fun though because you get to a binge a bit with the first few books, and then get the fun of that anticipation for the others, without having to wait as much.
Bro I always like reading a new series for that anticipation and Bc I get stressed out trying to read an old series
I'm glad you have the first two, lol! Haha, I'm sorry you usually end up starting just as the first book comes out... Though we need people who do that! Otherwise people might not realize to keep going with publishing the books.Macey, you do?? Oh, I love reading an old series! Usually everyone is already over it, and that's the downside for me... π
So then do you like the anticipation of the next book being released? What about an older series stresses you out?
I totally understand feeling like you're behind. π
Once I joined bookstagram I really started feeling that haha
Huh, I wonder if the feeling of being behind has anything to do with how connected to the book community you both seem to be? I get the feeling that both of you are more plugged into it than I am. Is that right, Macey? Like, either you guys live in the city of Book Lovers or you live near enough to make frequent visits, where as I live kinda out in the country. Like, I've got a few people who I talk to about books (this chat and a friend of mine are the only two consistent sources) and sometimes I watch YouTubers talk about them, but otherwise I'm mostly on my own. So when I join a series in that perfect spot where it's about to be finished and it's got a ton of anticipation for it going on, it's like I go and stay in the city for a bit for shopping purposes or something.
But y'all seem near or in the city limits, so everywhere you turn you gotta be current to some extent in order to be up to date. You just gotta be in the know when you live there. Maybe. I'm not actually sure if that's how it is in the city of Book Lovers...
Oh, hello, yes, just let me just...blabber into the chat. Like a crazy person. It all made perfect sense in my head, I promise... ππ
ππ
We do not have a bookstore where my dad lives but my mom lives in a big city and I visit her quiet often. Thereβs a books a million there
Oh, sorry, I meant internet community wise it's like you guys live in a huge city of people who talk a ton about books. π
Does your dad live in a smaller town?
Oh hahahahaha omg Holly I thought you really were saying we physically lived in "cities" and I was like hmm I would call this the suburbs? hahaha. But yeah, that was exactly what my point was before! That I started feeling behind once I joined bookstagram. Because before that I used to just go to Barnes & Noble and browse for awhile and get the books I found interesting. And my TBR list was never that long. But once I joined the book community on instagram, I started constantly seeing all these different books other people were showing off, and hearing everyone in the community get excited for certain books to come out. And it's both a blessing because they've brought soo many wonderful books to my attention (Acotar and ToG!!!!) and a curse because my TBR has gotten out of control. ππ But I recently asked in my caption if other people always feel behind on all the books, and everyone else does too haha. It's not like everyone else is up to date with every book they see either. :) And what's your bookstagram name again Macey? I totally forgot you were on there. I really need to take new photos so I can post though lol I've been slow lately.
Lol it's fine! I was blubbering incoherently like someone who needs more sleep, which I do! π Yeah, it just seems like the community is great for finding new books and having others to gush over things with, but it probably also has some drawbacks when it comes to feeling so out of control with your tbr π
Our town has had a book store on and off over time, but never more than one at a time and sometimes a few years between them. It's probably why I always want to stop by Barnes and Nobel when I go to the closest city. Book stores are just so fun!
I didn't know Books a Million did that!!! :O How fun! I miss being able to just go to b&n and just browse and sit down for awhile to kill time. It definitely sucks to live somewhere far from a bookstore, although thankfully ordering online is easy these days. π
True, it's nice to just browse a bookstore and walk around. Most times I don't even buy anything, I just like to walk around and see what's new lol
Itβs taking me forever to read The Diviners, like I really like the book but itβs a slow read for me and itβs aggravating me! Iβm trying to read 8 books this month and Iβm only on book two of my August tbr :(
I have to visit a books a million now. That just sounds so fun!Wow, that sounds like a rough tbr... π¬ I hope you're able to do it and not get too stressed over it! π€
Yeah maybe you just need a little break from it. Switching back and forth so you dont feel like you have to read too much of it might help. I hope it does! π
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I know it's a bit late in the day, but I hope you guys had a great day so far!
I thought I was dying earlier π my nose bled for about an hour and my arms and legs ended up getting covered with my blood π
Omg Macey!! How scary!! π΅ I never get nosebleeds so it always freaks me out a bit if I get one, but my brother gets them pretty often. I hope you were atleast home lol. If not, atleast it's over now loll
I rarely ever get nose bleeds either! But a few weeks ago I got a nose bleed and threw up blood, but yea I was home and I feel okay now thanks guys!
I get that haha. So relatable. I just rewatched Emma. (2020) It's one of my new favorite movies, it just makes me so ridiculously happy. π Just eating something right now, and then I'm going to watch the new episode of The 100, and then gonna watch the meteor shower later.
I'm glad you're better, Macey! I get bloody noses pretty frequently, especially if it's dry, but I wonder why you're getting them all the sudden. So weird! π¬That sounds like a lovely night plan, Taylor! Also?? I didn't know there was going to be a meteor shower!
Yep! The Perseids are peaking right now. And then the next one isn't until October, and then the biggest one of the year is in December. It'll be a nice lead up to Christmas ππ π
How lovely! I'm afraid I didn't get the chance to check tonight, and I really want to just go to bed, but I'll have to try to see them at some point π
You're usually up pretty late anyways! ππ You don't even need to stay up too crazy late. Ahhh I thought it was Friday for a moment, but it's only Thursday lol π
Lol yeah, I don't have to stay up any later than normal I suppose! But I was pretty tired so I just went right to bed π Ugh, I know... Why can't it be Friday..?? I'm so ready for Friday. π

How exciting! Do you have Crowns of Croswald or are you borrowing the books? Do you guys like reading books right as they come out or do you prefer to read them with the series is complete/just about to release the last book? I personally like that sweet spot of reading a series a month or two before the last one comes out, because then I still get the hype and fun, but I also don't have to wait years. π
Pajama days are fantastic! π€
