Lol nope that was fanmade, it was a compilation of different shows πππ Like Reign popped up and πππ I totally would have watched it though, it would have been so teen angsty and lots of changes but if the cw did it I still would have watched it ππ

πππ I really believe that script had to be fanmade theres no way hahahπππ Have you read The Jewel series?
Its just so ridiculous πππTotally would have watched it though hahaha. And I don't know why but I always think about both serie together even though they're different, probably because they both take places with royalty and romances. In The Jewel, nobles can't get pregnant so every year there's an auction where they buy girls who have certain abilities and get get pregnant for them instead, as surrogates. And the main character is bought and starts to fall in love with someone she shouldn't. Check out this book on Goodreads: The Jewel http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40...
It isss. I like it more than The Selection haha. But oh yeah!!! The Betrothed, it sounds really good!!!
Man, The Jewel sounds intense! And I hadn't heard about Kiera having a new book coming out, but it sounds interesting!
I really loved The Jewel because it was a bit of a dystopian society, it had some magic, some royal settings, some danger, some forbidden romance. It's totally my type of book haha
Red Queen is pretty popular but I dont think it's anything like the selection except probably the basic similarities haha
I like The Selection but I would never list it on my favorites. It feels very young adult, and the whole "the bachelor" type of feel to it was kind of fun, and I enjoyed the series, but it's definitely a light cute read rather than a big complex plot. I definitely ended up loving Aspen and America together though too!! I really liked their first meeting out in the garden lol
Lol, for me the Red Queen series was just okay. I had so many mixed feelings about it, and I kept waiting for those mixed feelings to solidify on either love or hate, but they never did. The Selection, on the other hand, drove me up a wall lol! I didn't realize it was more like "the bachelor" than a strong dystopian read, (because I don't always read reviews on books, and only skim the descriptions,) so I was vaguely angry the entire time I read it. Looking back, it was kind of fun and cute and I would have probably enjoyed it if I hadn't been hoping for more world-building and plot lol
I'm glad you enjoyed The Selection and have such fond memories of it! Lol, I just had an entirely wrong expectation of the poor series and it did nothing to meet that. It fell victim to my high dystopian expectations... πLol! I didn't read P.S. I Still Love You, but it sounds like Peter may have been into reading The Selection series!π
Yeah, the first book in the Red Queen series was probably the most poorly written. There was nothing that stood out in it as thrilling to me either, and I am not sure how I ended up continuing the series..? I think I just didn't have anything else to read at the time so I ended up reading the next book.
I was pretty disappointed with the 2nd movie too, it was a let down. I hope they can being magic the magic of the 1st in the final movie. Although they already finished filming it so idk lol might not be good either since they filmed them together π

Katie, that's really sweet that The Selection got you into reading a lot more and that your friend loved it too. I never stopped reading since I was little, so I've just always loved books. I'm always surprised how many people have a "this book got me into reading!" moment though haha.
And Holly, The Jewel trilogy is way more dystopian so you might like that one a lot more! I thought the system was really interesting in it.
One of my old faves is The Chemical Garden trilogy. Dystopian where something happened a few decades ago and now boys and girls both die by a certain age, like 20 and 21. So the rich will buy girls to be sister wives for their sons, because you have to have kids before you die so humanity continues. So the main character gets kidnapped at the beginning and ends up being sent with 2 other girls to the same place. But you end up loving the other girls too because they're in it together. It's really good.
And the father is a really scary scientist trying to find the cure that freaks them all out and she tries to escape and stuff because she has a twin brother out there etc
That sounds so interesting! A bit stressful, but so interesting! Lol the TBR list just grows and grows... π
It's really really good! And hahaha yeah they filmed movie 2 and 3 at the same time so 3 is coming out this summer already lol. And the forever book problem lo
I vaguely remember looking up how they ended and seeing that some people were upset with the ending, but I can't remember what happened... I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out! Fingers crossed...!
Lolol I just hope they can salvage it a bit. I wasn't really feeling the chemistry between them in the 2nd movie even, I felt like they lost a lot of it, so hopefully movie 3 pulls it together a bit. I'm sure movie 1 will remain the best one though.
My friend told me about some of the changes they made to book 2 :( Have either of you read Shadow and Bone/Six of Crows though? I have the books and need to start them, but I'm really excited about the Netflix adaptation!
No, I haven't. I feel like I would enjoy them, but I never quite understood what you read first or if they were complete? I try to keep myself from reading series that aren't finished or solidly planned to be finished by a certain date lol
It's complete! You read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first. It's the prequel series to the Six of Crows duology, and then there's a side novel for one of the main characters called King of Scars. She might be writing one more book for the world, but everything is wrapped up! I'm excited for Shadow and Bone, but I know Six of Crows is the series everyone LOVES and is better.
Ohhh, okay! Gotcha! Lol there are quite a few books, which made me a bit confused... Thanks for clearing it up! π Is the Netflix adaptation suppose to be a show or movie series?
Aww, it's a shame you didn't really love it! But I kind of figured you'd give it 3 stars since most people didn't really adore it. Such a pretty cover though!
It's going to be an 8 episode show! I don't know if it's just the first season, or they're making it a miniseries limited event. But yeah it'll cover Shadow snd Bone & Six of Crows!! It's not really that many books, 6? Like a normal series really. And that's nothing with how much Holly is reading haha! πππ
That's exciting! I hope it's good; people really, really, really love Leigh Bardugo's books so if it flops, people will be livid. πLol sooo that's because I listen to most of the books I've read for the past two year π My job makes it so I either have to listen to podcasts, music, or audiobooks if I don't want absolute silence. I figure maybe I could use this as an opportunity to check off a lot of the books I've wanted to read forever π
Ohh audio!! I can't do audiobooks, I just don't like them lolol and I can't focus enough to not miss things. BUT I think they're such a great option for moments like that or long car rides, etc! That makes it really fun that you can just listen while you work though! Infinitely better! I wouldn't mind what I was doing as much.
Lol I actually kinda hated the audio book format at first π It has had grow on me! Oh my goodness, lol I'm gonna have to try listening to What If Its Us! π The attractive voice is in fact everything!
I dont think the movie is ever happening, but I love that you have your fan cast for it ππππ»ππ»ππ»
Oh she said that recently?? It looked like the movie rights were bought years ago, and nothing ever happened and wouldn't at this point, but oh awesome! Hopefully it happens. And ahhhh omg Stargirl. It's been a long long time since I read it, but I remember how good it was.
I can't really remember what happened at the end of Stargirl, but I definitely prefer happy endings lolol I rarely read sad books
I honestly don't remember the ending of Stargirl either... It has just been too long! I was like...13..? Maybe even 12..? Lol, Idk, it has been a long while! I remember I kind of hated it though, and if the ending is sad then that might be why! I couldn't stand sad endings lol!
Oh my gosh, yes I think I remember that vaguely!!!! πππ Yeah, that's probably a major reason why the younger version of me hated it lol! If the ending made me cry back then I swore to never touch it again π I might have to give it a second go someday!
πππβ€ Yeah I haven't read it since I was like 14 or something too. We read Stargirl and Feed for school and I loved them both. I always get them confused for some reason lol since I read them at the same time idk. But I loved Feed too.
You never read Feed for school? It's a ya dystopian futuristic society where people get "feeds" implanted in their brains when they're young, basically connecting them to the internet and each other and everything. So they could text and watch videos and anything right from their feed. I thought it was so cool. Check out this book on Goodreads: Feed http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...
I've heard a LOT of good things about Red, White, and Royal Blue. I really dont do contemporaries though, I just really love fantasy!
I never had to read Feed either, but it sounds interesting!I like some contemporaries, but more often than not I don't really enjoy them so I usually DNF them pretty fast if I start reading them. I have heard a lot of good things about Red, White, & Royal Blue though!
I can only read them if I'm in the rare mood to, but for the most part they idea of them bores me because it's just more of the everyday haha. I need the magic of fantasy! π
Lol contemporary can be very good, but I agree with Taylor π I've always read to escape reality so contemporary is a bit too real for me haha!
Good! Which means at least one of us has good contemporary recommendations! Mine would probably be a little strange lol!
