Well, February's group read is definitely old school. Walton published her work in the heyday of classic weird fiction, 1945. So let's go modern for March's group read. Please nominate a Weird Fiction book that was published 1990 or later. Using the add book/author linking tool located in blue just above this box avoids ambiguity and is always appreciated.

Does Annihilation qualify? It is an mazing book. Also, currently reading Princess Holy Aura which features Lovecraftian monsters.
Annihilation certainly qualifies. Jeff VanderMeer is a prominent modern Weird Fiction writer. I was, in fact, just thinking today of nominating something by him since we have not read him as a group yet. This will do nicely. When you pull a book up, incidentally, and see science fiction, fantasy, and horror as its top genres, as you do here, chances are what you really have is a Weird Fiction book. It's fun to read reviewer comments to books like these because many don't know what they're really grappling with.I'm less certain Princess Holy Aura would be classified as Weird. It may be just straight urban fantasy. But I am willing to put it in the poll, too, and see what happens. Unless someone else knows more about the book and can say more definitively it should not be considered Weird Fiction?
Thank you for the nominations.
Also, there is a fella on Facebook (in the Lovecraft Eternal group) advertising his work https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...Thom Brannan says it's really good [obviously, FWIW]

I like to limit nominations to two per nominator and I have three now from you. Can you pick the two you want most to recommend? (I take the first two otherwise.) The good news is you can change your mind on which two you want to nominate all the way up through February 28. So you're not locked in.
If you want, Zina, I can make it easier on you to get down to two by being the one to nominate Annihilation. I was planning to anyway. On the Goodreads list of weird fiction (https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...) I just noticed VanderMeer's novel in the #1 slot. It even just moved into the #1 slot on the list of new weird books I originally created a few years back: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8...

OK, If I have to choose two, I think I will nominate the Annihilation and this House of Ctulhu one - because Princess Holy Aura might or might not really fit in here. It's weird all right (and maybe some other time) but perhaps not quite in the Weird Fiction way, necessarily (I only listened to the first 10% of the book yet). Now, I know for sure Annihilation is a GREAT book, and I know nothing of the other one and would love to try. so these two shall be my nominations.
Thank you for directing the process so well, Dan.
