Yeah, nothing that isn't SFF is eligible. It's quite a comprehensive list but I've seen almost all the eligible shows (I watch a lot of TV) except Dr. Who and Star Trek, since I've never gotten into those series.

2020 SFF shows I saw but wouldn't nominate:

I still think Lovecraft Country, Dark S3, Altered Carbon S2 are the top SFF tv for me this past year.

His Dark Materials S1 was so bad I didn't even give S2 a chance.

Otherwise I haven't seen: Umbrella Academy S2, The Boys, Tales from the Loop, The Plot Against America, Upload, What we Do in the Shadows.

3%!!!! I totally forgot that only came out last year. It feels like an eternity ago.

-I quit watching Dev's after about 4-5 episodes. I didn't like anybody and I didn't care.
-Umbrella started out great, but I think they blew it by messing with the characters before we really got to know them.
-The Boys was great tho' dark. I was ready for it to be resolved, though, and therefore tired of it, but I will vote for it.
-I thought What we do in the Shadows was stupid, but I never like situation comedies, so you can't go by me.
-Upload, we watched a couple and then we forgot to watch it anymore, so it was not that immersive, obviously. At least for us.
-I really want to see Lovecraft Country, but I am not paying.
-Altered Carbon was too confusing, and I didn't even get through season 1. I do not plan to return, even though I watched more of it than I wanted to because it looked like it SHOULD be so good.

-I have never heard of Dark, Into the Night, Omniscient, Utopia, or Raised by Wolves (pilot only). Where are they streaming, please?

Dark, into the night, and omniscient are all foreign language Netflix originals.

Dark is an extremely meticulous time travel show about a small German town that experiences an apocalypse. It is going to go down in history as an absolute classic of the time travel genre, and is probably the best SF show Netflix has produced. It's very complicated and confusing though, with lots of interconnected characters, plotlines, and mysteries. Some of the best casting I've ever seen, with characters portrayed amazingly at different points in their lives. Season 3 was its finale.

Omniscient is a pretty standard surveillance dystopia out of Brazil, but not with a depressing tone.

Into the Night is a French series about an apocalypse where everyone caught in sunlight dies, and follows a group of air travellers on a red eye plane as they fly circles around the globe trying to stay alive.

Utopia is on Amazon, is a really dark and ultraviolent comic book-y plague/conspiracy thriller. It wasn't great and got cancelled after its first season.

Raised by Wolves is on HBO Max and is a postapocalyptic survival story where two androids arrive on an exoplanet with several human embryos to start a new human civilization after the earth's destruction. Created by Ridley Scott (aliens) it starts out super strong but runs into some frustrating pacing problems and stale tropes.

Wow, "Into the Night" sounds like something where I would simply not be able to suspend my disbelief! Same for Snowpiercer.

I will look for Dark and Into the Night and try them. I have been avoiding foreign language dubbed and subtitled in English because . . . often the English subtitles don't match the dubbed English words. it gives me a headache, watching mouths move and watching subtitles and listening to English when nothing matches. (I have tinnitus, which mostly I ignore, but sometimes I need help.)

When I don't get a headache, I often like the foreign ones. Home for Christmas (not SF or F) was great.

I prefer to listen to foreign things in the original language with English subtitles. I hate watching dubbed stuff too because nothing matches. And that way you can still get the feeling in the original actors’ voices. Maybe that would be easier for you too, Kate?

Yeah, Snowpiercer didn't work for me much either (as a film). I never even gave the show a chance since I heard they turned it into a police procedural.

Pick one! You're not supposed to listen to dubbing and read subtitles simultaneously! If I am understanding you correctly. But subtitles never match audio, dubbed or original, because there isn't enough space/time for full capture, so as a rule dialogue gets condensed.

ACtually, I did do one that way that was in French. I don't know if it was the show's fault or mine. It was Netflix, I think, and it was about a pair of siblings who had a company that produced something that let you read the mind of your lover. I was SO confused, even after I changed the language to English. So confusing show, maybe. And I used to study French, but I could not understand it at all

Maybe I will try again.
