I am trying to find the title of a book my sister read and forgot. She said it came out around the same time as T. Kingfisher’s book Seventh Bride (2015) The premise is that a wizard (or monster) takes a village maiden to work for him for a year and then supposedly lets her go. (Or as the villagers think, either eats her or does something else drastic to her) and then looks for a replacement. I think I read this, or tried to read it a couple of years ago, but can’t remember the title or author. I would like to help my sister find this book. Any ideas?
