I added the Kindle edition yesterday (Jan 19) and edited my delete request to include the new edition as a valid merge target. About an hour later the merge happened but the wrong edition was deleted. The Kindle edition I had just added was merged into the subscription freebie (ebook) edition. Today the GR import script has re-added the Kindle edition, so can

I understand the confusion Emily, which is why I tried to provide as much detail as possible. The only edition prior to yesterday was the ebook edition from the subscription promo giveaway. Since I knew you were processing the requests I went back through all of mine to check for new potential valid publications and found the Kindle release. I was unaware of the ebook release via SW and if I had been, I would not have added a second ebook edition, merely requested the existing record be updated to reflect the correct metadata. I did add the kindle edition and selected Kindle for format and entered the ASIN so there was a valid merge target and updated the initial request. It was only about an hour later that the merge went through (deleting the Kindle edition I had just added) and the log was changed making my Kindle add look like I added the ebook, a bizarre side effect of merging the two I believe since I've seen this reflected in the librarian log other times in the past. As long as there is an ebook edition self published via Smashwords my request in msg #21 can be considered resolved.
If you want a tip for spotting irregularities in the log after merges, in this case take a look at my edit where it shows -> num_pages: '' to '90' yet no page count is available on the SW book page, I can guarantee I didn't make it up out of thin air and pretty sure that was the page count of the edition I initially requested deletion of, LOL.

You created the ebook edition with ISBN, so that's the one I merged it into. I don't see where there was a previously existing Kindle edition or the ASIN would appear on the log where I merged it. I may be misreading the changelog. I don't think it imported before. I guess it is all set now. I don't see the blank edition anymore.

I just added the publisher as Smashwords because I found it on their website.
ETA: The other user discussed their own edit which is why I referred to it. I discussed my own edits in hopes of figuring out the situation. Please remove this post if needed.
