You and a lot of others Leonie!

Common sense goes out the window when money is involved.

Oh that's a shame for you too! It's all so uncertain these days, can't lock anything in!

Doesn't it just!

Phyrnne, hope you are well on the way to recovery. I can truly sympathise with you.
Similar occurrence but initially not such a great outcome. I tripped over my own hand luggage! on an airport bus which resulted in a spiral fracture between elbow and shoulder. It took 12 months to resolve at which stage I had an operation to put plate in arm.
I have a plate now over my elbow, Odette, but I had my operation 24 hours after the accident so I am hoping for a speedy return to normal!

I am sure you will have a speedy return to normal, as I did after the operation. You had the best outcome having the operation straight away.
I had difficulty finding a specialist who was happy to operate. Though not painful, my arm was unstable after healing, and had problems doing some movements, such as changing down gear in my then manual car.
Good that you had a quick recovery Odette. Must admit I am already totally fed up with having a cast on my arm and it has only been seven days so far!

I did not have a cast on after operation - only a sling. I can sympathise with you as had cast on after fall for what seemed to be weeks!

Stage 4 lockdown restrictions from 11:59pm tonight for 5 days. Ends on Wednesday 11:59pm. ☹️☹️

Take care Sharon! Just watching it on TV a little while ago and I think Daniel Andrews has done the right thing with the virulent UK strain taking over that quarantine hotel. The tennis players can still play but no spectators. (I don't understand why they brought them out in the first place with covid like it is but I guess it's all about money!)
Stay safe and stay indoors :)
Stay safe and stay indoors :)

And once again supermarket shelves are empty of certain items. No work for me and many others. I do feel for businesses especially with Valentines Day in a few days most places would’ve been booked out.
Thank goodness for books 😀 Let the reading begin 📚📚
Yes it's pretty hard on everyone, but better only 5 days than a longer lockdown down the track. I knew they'd panic buy!!! And yes, books are our lifesaver 📚👍

Sorry to hear that Sharon :(
Victorians must be well and truly sick of lock downs even if they're short. Lets hope it works to stop the UK variant getting loose in the community!

Hopefully it's just a hiccup and won't have spread outside the hotel contacts. So annoying for you and the kids when they've just got back to school.
I always compare our situation with places around the world. The UK has been in lockdown so long that my friend has forgotten how long it actually is. We are incredibly lucky here that things aren't so much worse.

You are so lucky. We’ve been in a form of lockdown since the start of the pandemic. They eased up here during the summer (June-Sept) but in October they put us back in lockdown & we’ve been there ever since. Oh the joys of city living 🤨

Australia has got off lightly compared to other places in the world. What a blessing.

Oh dear, that's not good. I think a lot of people seem to forget how lucky we are, especially when there's a hiccup. I just hope it doesn't spread further with us. Take care Anne.

Just a little bit of trivia - how many of you picked up that today was 4/3/21 or 4321 without the dividers ;)

Not this person, Brenda. Good catch.

Take it easy and enjoy you time at home reading and relaxing sounds good, I hope all heals quickly

Enjoy your reading time Niamh and get well quickly. I remember when my daughter had her wisdom teeth out - not pleasant..

I bet it's good to have it over with now Niamh. Hope you enjoy your week of recuperation despite the painful mouth.

Haha! My daughter is using them at the moment Niamh - at least they're nutritious!

My kindle just declared there was an error in the book I was reading and told me to reload it, but now it's not finding any of my books and wants to be re-registered.
I assumed this could be a problem with my new kindle but when I checked on Amazon to see if it was listed there, all my devices (iPad, laptop and new kindle) have disappeared.
Oh no! Contact Amazon Carolyn. That's definitely worth panicking over! Let us know what they say please... and good luck!!

If no one else is having issues, I'll try re-registering the kindle and see what happens. My books are still in the Amazon cloud so they haven't disappeared.
When my kindle has hiccups, I hold the on/off button down for 20 seconds and restart it. So far it's always worked. But no issues now thankfully.

This is my second new kindle so I hope it's okay. Had to send the first back last week because it was skipping pages back and forth by itself, randomly highlighting words and contacting wikipedia and changing the font. Very annoying!! When I rang Amazon they told me to turn it on and off as if I hadn't thought of that (must be the first thing they teach people in IT support!)

There’s a ghost in your Kindle!

I don't know what to suggest. So frustrating when all your NG reads are on it!

Glad to hear it's all good, Carolyn! What a relief!
Carolyn wrote: "I’ve re-registered it and it seems to be okay so fingers crossed! Could well be a ghost Andrea!"
Everything crossed for you that it stays okay Carolyn!!

My job is going down the toilet. My boss is taking LWOP for the rest of the year, leaving myself 2 years experience at the school and April, one month’s experience at the school to manage with a replacement, a work experience student and 26 student assistants to train. Seriously I am not paid enough to deal with the stress!
On a positive note we have set up a street library in the staffroom and I’m looking forward to taking care of it. I wrote to my Body Corporate over a year ago to ask if I could put a street library in my yard and never got a response. I resent the email last week and asked for the ‘courtesy of a response’. You guessed it - nothing! I’m going to set up a street library here at home anyway. And if they turn on me I’ll take it to VCAT. (Civil and administrative tribunal)
Did you know that 1 almond requires 35 litres of water to be produced and that a Canadian multinational has bought large tracts of land near Renmark in South Australia for almond production, 95% of which will be exported? It’s time we all reassessed our relationships with almonds. This information came from the Murray Darling Basin enquiry.
Finally, some good news. I’m having breakfast with my sister at a Japanese place tomorrow.
