Well done Sharon Donβt think I will make mine this year.
Sharon wrote: "Thank you Dale and Krystal. You still have time, Dale π"Donβt think itβs likely Sharon. Dealing with too many health issues still to concentrate much on reading. Actually in hospital after a second major op and have been for much of recent couple of months. Pain is not a great motivator,,
Oh Dale Iβm so sorry to hear this. Hope your health issues improve soon. Thinking of you. Take care xx
I didn't guess it was so bad Dale! A long hospital stay is the worst. Thinking about you and hope you are well again soon!
Take care Dale, health is top priority...books will aways be there! Thinking of you and hope you are on way home, in good health, soon.
Phrynne wrote: "I didn't guess it was so bad Dale! A long hospital stay is the worst. Thinking about you and hope you are well again soon!"I actually had a couple of weeks at home after the first op which was an unexpected op but more urgent, Phrynne. Only discovered when I was in hospital. Then it was back in for the second one which is what I originally went in for. So I knew it was coming. Just things went pear shaped so it ended up sooner rather than later. So thatβs why no reviews except for a line or two from me.
Marianne wrote: "Dale, I hope things improve and 2022 is a better year for you."Thanks Phrynne, Trish, Leonie and Marianne.
Marianne, how is you hubby recovering from his surgery? Hope he's well on the road to recovery :)
Brenda, hope you and family are staying safe during this period of opening up, especially with the rising cases in the Newcastle area.
It's shocking Trish! Ballooned out of control. We found out this morning that our just turned 16 year old grandson has tested positive. He had a day 12 test yesterday after being a close contact, and all the others testing negative. The results this morning meant he went to his formal last night... So in isolation for 14 days - no Christmas for us with our son and his family unfortunately. So upset for them.

Hopefully you can plan a post Christmas celebration with them. Stay safe.

Sorry to hear that Dale. I hope you get over the ops soon and they help to improve your health. keep in touch and let us know how you're doing even if you don't feel like reading much. All the best for a better year next year.

Thanks Carolyn. Appreciate the kind thoughts.
Brenda wrote: "Thanks everyone. He has no symptoms and has told me it's just frustrating!"Easy to understand..hope he has lots to distract him and he can look forward to a January Christmas with you all.
Sorry to hear that Brenda. Iβm sure your Christmas get together in January will be worth the wait.
Thanks girls, it's a thought that's just floating around at the moment, but I hope to solidify it soon :)

I had my booster today, so that's another thing ticked off the list. And it looks like NSW Health has activated the surge workforce. I've just completed some online training, and may end up in a testing clinic for the odd shift here and there. Probably next week, just waiting for the confirmation.
Looks like Omicron may be a bit friendly. I've decided to follow the Chief Health Officer's advice and mask up whenever I'm indoors. I figure she has more health knowledge than the premier...
Haha! The premier is a word that I can't say here ;)
Thanks Leonie :) We hope so too, and that the rest of the family don't get it, Good luck if you work in the testing clinic. I hope it won't be too hot for you in the PPE.. Hubby and I are still wearing our masks and won't do otherwise. It's definitely sensible!

I am having my booster shot tomorrow and will be wearing a mask while indoors as well stay safe everyone

Good luck Helen :)
Brenda wrote: "Marianne, how is you hubby recovering from his surgery? Hope he's well on the road to recovery :)"Thanks Brenda. Slowly is the best word to describe it. Twice weekly rehab and physio, he's now driving so I don't have to take him everywhere, but unless he has a nap, he's in bed very early. Usually by then he's so tired, it's like he's drunk, but without the pleasure of a drink.
As for your grandson "He has no symptoms and has told me it's just frustrating!" is a lot better than the alternative.
As Leonie, says, I'd rather take the advice of the Chief Health Officer, so am masking up indoors and notice many others doing the same. My colleague at Vinnies has abandoned the mask she never wore properly (half-mast, let's say), but the customers haven't, nor have I.
Dale, just drop a line here occasionally, so we know how you're doing. :)

Glad to hear he is doing well, even if progress is slow, Marianne.
If only everyone would obey the rules re Covid! Better your grandson has no symptoms than the alternative Brenda.
Will do Marianne. At present still in extreme pain.

Good to hear your hubby's doing well Marianne. Hopefully he'll start to get more energy back soon as he feels less tired. I guess you'll both be having a quiet Christmas :)

Yes, you're dead right about my grandson. I've just been in contact to see how he is today, just waiting to hear.
I hope your hubby continues to improve, even if slowly. Poor man, it's not good to have to recuperate from major surgery. All the best to him, and you :)

Well after exploring the site, I signed up for Melbourne Uniβs 10 Great Books Masterclass. The idea is to read a book each month and it is accompanied by a recorded lecture from an academic then a Zoom Q and A. There are 10 books in the 2022 series. Iβm really looking forward to the challenge.
