Haha poor guy. I too can understand in the circumstances!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I had my hair cut this afternoon. I was the only one there but my hairdresser has her salon at the back of her house and it's just her, so she has spaced her appointments suitably. She's booked up for three weeks, though, and couldn't fit DH in...

I don't blame him.
I also appreciate that he is allowed to select his own photo. The last couple of jobs I've had, the security teams for the buildings were responsible for IDs and photos. They seemed to take inordinate pleasure in making everyone look their worst.

My work ID photo was also taken by the security team at work, but every time I got a new card (to replace a damaged or lost one) they used the same photo so it was the same for over 20y (unfortunately I wasn't!)

Haha! That's not really good 'security' Carolyn - I'm sure your face changed a little over 20 years ;)

Sadly, Eddie Jaku, Holocaust survivor and author of The Happiest Man on Earth by Eddie Jaku The Happiest Man on Earth has passed away at 101 years of age. Long time resident of Sydney, he was a remarkable man and an inspiration. RIP Eddie.

Diana (secondhandrose) | 73 comments We are out of lockdown! I’m not going crazy but I went to a Japanese grocery store this morning then had lunch with champagne with family members. I had bought lollipops made from chocolate at the Japanese grocers for the kids (6,4 and 2) and seeing the delight they gave the kids especially 2 year old Ivy was just great.

Diana (secondhandrose) | 73 comments Tonight is our school citizenship and personal growth awards. The library nominated 4 students who all help with borrowings, returns, shelving, book selection, displays etc.. One of the students struggles with her schoolwork but is just an absolute ray of sunshine in the library. She is getting an award tonight. I asked her to write about her experience in the Student Assistant Program and this is what she wrote. Isn't it adorable?

"Library assistant shows you a lot of new resources and you can make new friends there. It is really fun and motivates me to go there daily. When you go, there is always something for you to do. " Audrey 8J

message 641: by Kylie (new)

Kylie | 113 comments Has anybody been having any issues with GR friend requests lately? I have declined a request, and GR accepts them. I have even tried blocking people, and it still accepts them? (I don't mean to sound like a grinch, but I am cautious of befriending people I don't know in real life)

message 642: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9837 comments I haven't had that issue (I accept most people after I've checked their profile), but there is something odd going on with friend requests.

I've had the same people turning up three or four times in my requests to approve when I've already approved them. Seems to be some glitch, so approving them a couple of times, I'm ignoring them for now.

message 643: by Janelle (new)

Janelle | 635 comments Kylie, I’ve been discussing this in the bugs thread. It’s happening to me to, accepting people I try to ignore and then I can’t unfriend them either.
So if I don’t want to accept someone they can just stay on my list for now.

OOPS sorry, I didn't think of the bugs thread, I am glad to know that it's not just me, I thought maybe it was some new kind of hack happening. I'm extra cautious at the moment as was recently a victim to cyber crime.

We've been talking about this in the Bugs thread and yes, it is one! I don't know how long they'll take to fix it but it's a real nuisance, especially if you can't successfully block them!
