Hi Emily, it’s not a new rule. We’ve always allowed expansion of words, I only added it to the official rules after someone questioned going from ‘night’ to ‘midnight’ in the old thread. Since ‘cook’ is in ‘cookie,’ it is allowable. But you can’t go from ‘cookie’ to ‘cook.’ 😉

Ok, so if Paula enters a title with the word 'or' in it, I can then use a title with 'organ' in it and then Paula can play 'organza?" It doesn't make sense to me. We can go from tea to teatime because tea has the same meaning (a time to drink tea). However, cookie does not have the same meaning. As you know, I and many others have played this game for years (maybe decades!) and we haven't played with this understanding.

I’m willing to go with the general consensus, if anyone else wants to weigh in on it. 🙂
