RabbitMilitia | 338 comments While continuing to search for a different book I'm asking about (also teddy bear related), I half remembered another book series that I had forgotten and can't find on google. I asked my brother about it and we are thinking that it is a series of probably 4-5 books (could be less) about what might be a family of teddy bears (they were multi-colored, so we are thinking teddy bears, but could possibly just be bears). The bears were all different colors (maybe different sizes)- there was a black one with glasses and a yellow one and an orange one, maybe green, red, blue and brown also. They all had peach or white faces and the fur on their heads looked kind of like hoods. My brother thinks their hands looked sort of mitten like. They sort of had a "human" like quality to them (not quite like the Bear Family in the old Highlights, but sort of on that continuum). My brother remembers one book had to do with them doing something outside- maybe a picnic? Maybe a forest? We at first thought they had something to do with "Teddy Bear's picnic" but none of the books to do with that poem/song seem right. We are guessing that they were published in the 1970s (possibly early 80s or 60s, but likely 70s). My brother thinks they would have been for about a first or second grade reading level- he read them to me so I don't exactly remember their difficulty level. The books were probably 40 pages or less each and the books were more "landscape" then "vertical." We are thinking probably a US author/illustrator. Thanks!

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5528 comments I'm on mobile so I can't link, sorry, but I think these are the Teddybears books by Susanna Gretz and Alison Sage, e.g. The Bears Who Went To The Seaside.
