Looking for a book I read around 2016-2017, it was a book geared towards middle schoolers, and there were a few books in the series, two or three. In one of them, they went to space, and another, under the sea. I think in one of them they had to blow up a meteor headed for Earth and they thought one of them died.
I remember it went something like a whole bunch of kids woke up and they had been taken by the U.S. Government to save the world, and there's a focus that they were taken because they're all good at different video games or something. For some reason I keep thinking the title has something to do with a number, like it was called "The Thirteen" or something along those lines. I also remember that it had a cover that was more of a cartoony style of all the kids instead of just the words of the title.

It was kinda like Ender's Game, but instead of them being enlisted to save Earth or whatever like in that, they all woke up just from going to bed, and they had been taken if I remember correctly.

The Nerdy Dozen series by Jeff Miller? The first one is The Nerdy Dozen, The Nerdy Dozen #2: Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind is the one where they go to space, and The Nerdy Dozen #3: 20,000 Nerds Under the Sea is the underwater one.

The kids being good at video games sounds a bit like Invitation to the Game by Monica Hughes, but that's a standalone novel.
