Happy New Year!

This month we are starting a whole new year: New start, new books and hopefully a new healthier world.

Let's us know what books you are reading and what you think of them.

message 2: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Still reading Kate Elliott's Crown of Stars series; in book 4 (of 7), Child of Flame, and I expect the series will take me at least into February.

message 4: by Palash (new)

Palash (naikon) | 63 comments Reading The Dragon Republic and All Systems Red these days.

message 5: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Finished Beartown. Liked, but didn't love. Not sure if Backman is the author for me, but I'd try another of his books.

And I just started Ready Player Two, but with lowered expectations judging by the rating.

I’m not reading. My shoulder pain is too distracting.

message 8: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Sorry to hear that and hope it improves soon.

I know shoulder issues can be so bothersome. I work with several people here that's had to have surgery because of it. I pray all will be well in the end.

message 12: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Continuing on from last year, I'm starting The Gathering Storm, fifth in Kate Elliott's Crown of Stars series.

Finished Seventh Son. A very unique fantasy. I thought it was great. Now I'm reading Peace Talks.

message 18: by Palash (new)

Palash (naikon) | 63 comments Finished reading The Dragon Republic.
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Already started the next book in series. The Burning God.

message 21: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I just finished Ready Player Two. Expected to dislike it, but I didn't. I mostly enjoyed it, but did have mixed feelings about certain things.

And now starting The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Excited about this one.

I liked Emperor's Knife & its sequels quite a bit; I'll be curious to know what you think.

I'm about a quarter of the way through. So far I really like it. I'm listening to the audio so it's kind of hard to keep the names straight but overall I'm giving it a four star.

message 28: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments The end is in sight! Moved on to In the Ruins, the sixth (of seven) in Kate Elliott's Crown of Stars series.

message 31: by Palash (new)

Palash (naikon) | 63 comments Finished The Burning God. Fantastic series. 5 stars for book as well as series.

Now, I am planning to plunge into massive Wheel of Time series.

I've set up the new book threads and had to do a 'capcha' to prove I was human!

Show us your books from January!

message 33: by Joseph (last edited Feb 01, 2021 01:56PM) (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Was not an exciting month, necessarily, but a good one:

Child of Flame [★★★★☆]
The Gathering Storm [★★★★☆]

EDIT: In my defense, they were both 8-900 page books.
