I've finished The Noise
. I thought it was engaging and fast-paced, but the ending was a bit confusing to me. I might go back and read the last 10% or so again to see if it becomes more clear.

Currently reading Billy Summers
. It's not my favorite of King's work, but still good. It is not horror, but a story about an assassin with some morals. It has some military fiction included, which is a great way to give us insight into our MC, but not my favorite genre. I'm hoping to finish today.

I'm currently reading The Last House on Needless Street
and
The Orphan Witch.
The Last House on Needless Street has been interesting and is quite a curious story. I have a theory as to what's going on, but I'm not completely convinced that I'm correct.
The Orphan Witch has been a little slow-going, which was unexpected. There is too much detail of the spells and learning process for me. The best analogy I can make is if you were reading Harry Potter and had to sit through all his lessons with him while he was learning about magic and spells in addition to his outside adventures. There has also been a strange love interest added to the mix. I haven't decided what I think about it yet, but the MC's thoughts about the other person are pretty repetitive, which I don't care for. Overall, it's not bad, just not quite what I was expecting or hoping for. I'm less than halfway through though, so it could still turn out well.

I like Marie Benedict's writing and have that one on my to-read list. What do you think of it so far, Kristine?

Kristie, I really loved this one. I just wrote a review about it, but basically it made me really think about an extremely intelligent woman having to pass as white in order to become J.P. Morgan’s Personal Librarian. If you like Marie Benedict, I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks, Kristine! I'm looking forward to it. :)

In addition to The Last House on Needless Street and The Orphan Witch, I've also started Over the Falls. I'm enjoying it, but I think I can see quite a bit of what's coming. But who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.
I just finished
Over the Falls. It was a decent, enjoyable enough read, if a bit predictable.

I finished The Orphan Witch
and gave it 2.5 stars (rounded up). Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was expecting it to be and I was disappointed.

It was really good. Pretty creepy and very curious.

I just finished Ink and Bone. It was really good, but leaves you with a "to be continued..." ending. There are 5 books in the series and I guess you have to read them all to find out what happens. I also found two very short stories online and I'm looking forward to reading them.
I just started Under the Whispering Door and It seems like it will be a quick read. I enjoy Klune's writing.
I'm also still reading Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady's Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners. It is interesting, but getting a bit repetitive now.

I am just starting The Santa Suit
. I'm only a couple of chapters ion, but I'm enjoying it and I think it's just what I need.

I just finished The Santa Suit
. It was a cute Christmas story.

I'm currently reading Miss Benson's Beetle and Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady's Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners. I'm enjoying them both. Unmentionable is getting a bit repetitive in parts, but there's a lot of interesting information in it as well. Miss Benson's Beetle has already had a few twists I wasn't expecting.

I just finished Best in Snow
. It is a really fun series. I only started with the last book, but I plan to go back to the beginning soon.
my Best in Snow review
I'm currently reading Candy Coated Murder. It's a short book and I'm hoping it will feel a little festive. I'm also about to start Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man for my RL book club.

I think I am going to start
and then and then The Last house on needless Street
, have the audio for that one, too think it will make it more spooky that way.

Kristie, Best in Show does look fun. It has a dog on the cover, so must be good. 🐾🐶
I am currently reading
. It's not what I expected. It's a memoir about an environmentalist who deals with the death of her father by training a goshawk. It's really good.
I just finished Lakesedge. I really liked it, it was a great read for Halloween season. If you're a fan of dark romance/supernatural YA then I'd recommend it. Only downside is that it does have a bit of a cliffhanger and the next book won't be out until next October. I just started Jade Fire Gold. I'm about 100 pages in and am really liking it so far, but I'm a bit worried because the reviews aren't great.
