Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments What I love about Liz Byrski's books is that, as opposed to the thirty-somethings in chick lit, she writes characters that I can, in my sixties, relate to. I found At the End of the Day to be topical, thought-provoking and uplifting.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Lesley Manville is quite the perfect voice for Richard Osman's The Thursday Murder Club, and the bonus with the audiobook is an excellent interview at the end with the author and Marian Keyes.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments I'm working my way up to the seventh book, which I have on NetGalley, and the fifth instalment in Peter May's Enzo Macleod series, Blowback has quite a lot of food and wine, but also a few red herrings and an excellent twist.

Carolyn | 9882 comments I've been binge listening to Stuart MacBride's audiobooks of his brilliant Logan MacRae series while I'm doing some sewing (a quilt and a wall hanging). The narration is so good!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Perhaps it's the sign of a good narrator that the audio book has you laughing even more than the print version did. This is certainly the case with Lesley Manville's narration of the second book of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club series, The Man Who Died Twice. Another 5★s and hoping we don't have to wait too long for #3.

Buzz Books 2021:Fall/Winter includes selections from famous established authors and some wonderful debuts. There's also non-fiction and Young Adult. I've included a smattering of samples of a few that appeal to me.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments I just enjoyed the tender and funny Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune, the story of a selfish man who uncomfortably learned about friendship, love, and life only after he died.
