Laura wrote: "OH! That is on my TBR this year! I will look forward to hearing how you liked it!"i really liked it! murderbot is a great character, and i'm already planning on reading the rest of the series, ha ha. plot was a little weak, but since it's more character-oriented, it wasn't much of a problem for me. hope you enjoy it when you get around to it! :D
August's Eyes by Glenn Rolfe
I love Glenn Rolfe's stories and this latest one is no exception. Well and truly hooked right from the first page

It appears to be a horror/mystery/thriller. I'm liking it."
I thought that one was pretty good.
A non-fiction book about lake monsters in northern Italy's lakes, written by Germanys leading fortean writer, Ulrich Magin.
Chasing the BoogeymanAlso reading:
Loving it! And to everyone who has already read it, there is a sequel expected next year. yeah!
Just finished The Magpie Coffin, by Wile E. Young while reading My Heart Is a Chainsaw, by Stephen Graham Jones. I decide to set it down for a couple of days, and am getting into this Splatter western series. I'm going to start Shadow of the Vulture, by Regina L. Garza Mitchell later today.
Dave wrote: "Koko by Peter Straub"Oooh that's a good one. I think it's the first of the Blue Rose trilogy?

Yup. Then there are a couple of off-shoots from the trilogy, Lost Boy Lost Girl, which I thought was terrific, and In the Night Room, which I liked, but less; it struck me as a not entirely successful foray into Jonathan Carroll territory.
The trilogy, though, is terrific.
Just started "StrengthsFinder 2.0" by Tom Rath for my job and have been enjoying it so far. Seems like it'll be a quick read, I'm breezing right through it and learning a lot about my strengths :-)
Yes Char, there's that, Mystery and the Throat. It's off to a good start. Straub portrayal of military life in Vietnam and his standard of writing are top draw.
It is quite interesting how often the winged creatures encountered are/were compared to the monster from the movie Jeepers Creepers.
Partially, these exactly the same winged cryptid encounters as in The Lake Michigan Mothman: High Strangeness in the Midwest, but then, Strickler and Tobias Wayland were co-investigators.
I'm currently reading The Blade Artist by Irvine Welsh, it's part of the Mark Renton series (Trainspotting)I'm loving it, especially the Scottish humour.
Currently working on
, loving it so far. It is a heavy one to carry around, so I’ve only been reading it at home. Makes for a slower read, but this is one I don’t mind savoring for as long as possible.

I'm leaving The Stand for December, my birthday month, since I've heard nothing but AMAZING things about it. LoL I also realize isn't it like well over 1,000 pages? Either way, it's Stephen King and I've never read it but happy reading, Michelle! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts/review on it when done :-)
