I read this as a pre-teen so it's probably a children's book, maybe YA. The protagonist is a boy and the other main character is a girl who is a pilot. She always wears pilot goggles. The boy lives in the countryside. They meet and go on an adventure fighting evil robot wasps. Read somewhere between 2008-2013. (idk if it helps, but i think the cover was blue in the Greek edition).
