message 151: by Melanie, looking for a partner in crime (new)

Melanie | 1911 comments I should be finishing Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants this week and I'm going to count it as my human rights read (climate/ environmental justice).

... which means I actually finished this challenge!!!
Best Books:
[6 June- LGBTQIA] 7/6 The Song of Achilles
[10 October- Persons with Disabilities] 10/23 StringsStrings by Jeremy Scott
[11 November- Indigenous Peoples] 11/27 A Snake Falls to Earth
[December- Human Rights] ?? Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants

Least Favorite:
[8 August- New Adult] 9/3 House of Earth and Blood
[9 September- LatinX/South America] 10/9 Nocturna

No regrets though. Even the books I didn't really 'like' were worth reading :)

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments So I went back and looked at the books I read which could fit the challenge and came up with 2 more, even if I didn’t read them specifically for this challenge. Here’s my list:

✔︎♦ January - middle grade: Who Let the Gods Out?
✔︎♦ February - BLM YA: The Poet X
✔︎♦ March- Europe Momo
✔︎ ♦ June- LGBTQIA - Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
♦ October- Persons with Disabilities - I purchased A List of Cages but haven’t read it yet.
✔︎ ♦ November- Indigenous Peoples - Elatsoe

I enjoyed them all immensely except for maybe Who Let the Gods Out, which was fun, but not exceptional.

I pledged 6 books and almost made it!

Ashley (ashleycw) | 257 comments I managed to sneak in my December book at the last minute

Zara Hossain Is Here by Sabina Khan

This hit LGBTQ+ rights, immigration, religious freedoms etc.

I managed 25 books for this challenge. I really enjoyed it and am excited for next year
