Tami (tamicarvallo) | 99 comments Middle Grade/Children's genre, a group of middle school (maybe even elementary school) girls that are friends and go to the same school, typical fighting and conflicts between them. I remember it was a series of more than 3 books, I think there must have been 5 or 6 in total. And I mostly remember one of the book covers had a fuchsia colored background and a drawing of a standing blonde girl with low cut jeans (very early 2000s outfit) holding a flip phone in her hand. One of the other covers was red. I read this book around 2002-2004, and read it in Spanish but there was an English edition too.

Was the cover an illustration or a photograph?
Time period/location story takes place?

Do you remember the plot of one of the books in the series?

message 10: by Tami (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tami (tamicarvallo) | 99 comments The cover was an illustration. The story took place in the early 2000s or late 90s if I remember correctly, it was modern times. Sadly, I don't recall the plot much :/ I checked the Girls In Love and the series and it's not that one, but thank you <3

kell_xavi (reikelian) | 43 comments LBD: It’s a Girl Thing by Grace Dent (or another in the series)?

Maybe also check out books by Lauren Myracle, Cathy Cassidy, and Meg Cabot. Lots of pink covers and girl groups among them!

Do you know what country it was originally published in? Was is first published in Spanish?

The style of the cover is very, very similar, a lot like this one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7... but unfortunately but I was checking all the covers and summary, and these are not the books :( still thank you <3

I checked that series and also the books by the other authors and it's not any of those. I believe it was originally published in the US, but I might be wrong, thanks for the suggestions! Also, thank you Rainbow

Welcome to Junior High! (Girl Talk, #1) by L.E. Blair

message 27: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart | 28670 comments That series predates flip phones, though!

In case it helps anyone, Google says the first flip phone was introduced by Motorola in 1996. But I think it would still be very uncommon for a teen to have one until years later.

You mentioned the cover image is an illustration, not a photograph. Is it a cartoon-like or realistic hand-drawn illustration (with a fuchsia/ bright pink-purple background)?

It was a cartoon, not realistic. The title was in very bright colors, maybe even neon in some cases, and yes, the background was all the same color (one book was all fuchsia, another was red, and other blue)

tara (katesutton) | 21 comments Something from the Amazing Days of Abby Hayes series, maybe - Look Before You Leap?

Also, the flip phone + jeans reminds me very much of the Lizzie McGuire books - although those have a photo of Hilary Duff on the cover along with the cartoon.

The cartoon and overall feel of the covers of The Amazing Days of Abby Hayes series are very similar to the books I'm looking for! Unfortunately, they're not the ones :( but the covers have the same style. It's not the Lizzie McGuire books either but I understand what you mean. Thank you :)

No, I don't think so, it followed the same group of girls every time, and the protagonist was always the same girl. I think she was blonde.
