Yes I did, I gave it a 3*! how about you.. did you like it?

message 152: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I gave it five stars which shouldn't surprise anyone since Tana French is my favourite author in the entire world

message 153: by Laura (new)

Laura I am working on the other 3 books listed on the spreadsheet that I said I would read.

message 154: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Okay! I'm working on my next draw 2 book so that will be nice

message 155: by Tawallah (new)

Tawallah | 135 comments Hi Beth, I've just started it. It's based in UK after WW2 when there was still hardships. So far it's a book about books : author doing book tours, publishing houses. The main character is Julie who is thirty and world weary. I like her so far. I'll let you know more later.

Thanks to the encouragement by you guys, I just happened to start this one a few hours early at work itself :P

message 157: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Maybe I'll read the second book in the series here soon. I did really enjoy the first one. Really hope you like it, Apoorv!

Where do you work? (if you don't mind me asking)

message 158: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Awesome job Speeders! We have the first four hands completely booked up! (Pardon my pun- I've been dying to use that one)

I hope you like it Apoorv. There are 35 books+ ( I think) in the series. I am current and waiting for the new installment. Her characters have definitely grown since the first book. (view spoiler) Let us know what you think of it when you are finished!

message 160: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Devoted in Death is the newest announced book and is #41 and it set to release in September! I think we all have quite a few books to read by her still!

ohhh , I can't wait! Not me:) I'm all up to date! I can't wait to read it! I do recommend reading these in order.

message 162: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments You are!? That's awesome! Yeah I'm definitely reading them in order. Next time there is a big library sale, I may try to pick some up. Either that or just check them out at the library. I'm really trying to stick to this book buying ban!

(We'll disregard the 9 books I've bought since the beginning the month)

message 163: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments The In Death series rocks! Dallas and Roarke are great, but you can't beat the supporting characters like Peabody, McNab and Mavis for entertainment. Robb/Roberts is just a damned fine storyteller.

message 164: by Apoorv (new)

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 839 comments I tried Nora Roberts (and I must say I didnt pick up a great book to start off) so I am not making any judgements on her as yet.. but was really eager to see her as Mr. Robb ! :P

Honestly, for me the sheer length of the series itself is enchanting ! Wonder if there is any series that has been on for 41 books and the story still flows (I believe) in a definitive manner ! :)

message 165: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I hope the Stephanie Plum series gets to 41 books! I would read all of them so many times

The books penned under J D Robb are definitely better than those penned under Nora Roberts ( in my opinion!) Lee Child's Reacher series isn't that long but is definitely awesome in its own way! ( book 20 is out)
Laurell K Hamilton also has a long series ( book 24 is coming out)though not as long as Robb's.

message 167: by Apoorv (new)

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 839 comments Wow ! This one starts very similarly to James Patterson's Women's Murder Club Series and I loved whatever little I have read of that series !

message 168: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Love that series! I'm up to book 12 so I'm almost caught up!

message 169: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) I'm super closed to finishing the third Lord of the Rings book, Return of the King. It could count as card 3 in hand 5, if no one else has taken that yet! I plan on finishing it tonight!

message 170: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Cool! I think you also have To All The Boys and Fairest signed up. Are you reading those next?

message 171: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments I finished Priceless - not awesome. I'm going to skip forward to One For the Money, as I need a blast of Plum at the moment. (I'll make sure to get my Hand 4 books read in time :)

message 172: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments I just noticed something - why don't you move A Tree Grows in Brooklyn to hand 5 - then it can work for 5 and 9 (Francie Nolan is the main character.) One For the Money (Stephanie) or The Supremes at Earl's can also work for 6 in that hand. I can find a different book for 3 for hand 4. Does that work?

message 173: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Well, we would only be able to use it for one of the cards in hand 5. I can move One for the Money to 6 and then movie my Big Little Lies to Reverse? I would just rather keep Trees Grow in Brooklyn in hand 4 because then the first four hands are completely mapped out and then if we have time, we can work on hand 5. Is that okay?

message 174: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) I finished Return of the King - hand 5 card 3 for author Tolkien (starts with a T) and because its the 3rd book in the series. I added To All the Boys to my shelves and I hope to finish it tonight or tomorrow! Then I'll start Fairest.

message 175: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments Sure thing - definitely put the books where you want.

message 176: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kkhoppers) | 132 comments Just finished the second book to the Everlost series (It also contains an e)

message 177: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments @Alexa- Updated the spreadsheet! thanks for letting me know.

@Teddie- Thanks for being understanding :D

@Kirsten- I put it under 6 because the author's last name starts with an S. (at least I hope I got the right author)

Can you let me know what you're reading next so I can put it on the spreadsheet?

message 178: by Laura (new)

Laura Finished The Raven Boys!

message 179: by Laura (new)

Laura Hi Beth ,can you change a couple of my books around?

message 184: by Laura (new)

Laura Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Added! (and you did read Big Little Lies, right? I think I remember seeing that)"

Yes in November. I really liked it! I've read 4 of her books and its my favorite.
Big Little Lies
What Alice Forgot
The Hypnotist's Love Story
The Husband's Secret.. I would rate them in that order . I have another one on my end table The Three Wishes that I 'm hoping to get to in a couple of weeks, lol

message 185: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I've never read one by her so I'm excited to read it! I was looking at our shared books and saw that you had read it so I'll get to it here soon! I'm reading all of my books in order!

message 186: by Kirsten (last edited Feb 06, 2015 11:09AM) (new)

Kirsten (kkhoppers) | 132 comments In hand five, I can read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for nine.
Reason: It has a place that starts with an N.

message 187: by Laura (new)

Laura working on The Outcast Dead, I quite possibly may be finished tonight!

message 188: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I updated the spreadsheet, Kirsten. Let me know when you finish it!

message 195: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Hand one is COMPLETE. We have 450 points right now. Awesome job guys :D

message 196: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) I finished Fairest by Marissa Meyer today, and To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han yesterday! Sorry, I wasnt on my laptop yesterday and for some reason my goodreads app on my phone won't let me read any discussions from groups, which means I also can't comment on them until I'm on my ipad or laptop. I don't know whats wrong with the latest android app update.

message 197: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) As soon as I'm on a computer I will make sure I post a comment that I've finished a book!
