Aiswrya | 2053 comments Gustaf, I read this book based on your review and I'm so glad I did! I loved it! It was even better than Him. I liked that Blue went after what he wanted without too much drama and angst. Jumping straight into the next book! Hope it's just as good!

Reading the second book now and I'm totally taken aback by the 180 this story has pulled! Please tell me the entire book is NOT about Blue coming out? I absolutely hate the coming out stories!!!

I am a bit biased with this book! It was one of my first novels ever when I was 7/8 years old (second one actually, I don't know why I remember these things and then I forget everything on a daily basis!) and I loved it. It has always had a place in my heart, don't ask me why! I wanted to re-read it as an adult and it was nice to see how many things I remembered from the movie and the book. I think I would have rated it lower if I had read it now for the first time, not disliking it but not 5 stars.

I suspect I might be doing this often too! Especially the first book ❤️

Have you read the Spectral files series by Harmon? This is the first book - P.S. I Spook You. The humor is great and MCs are totally adorable! This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

I've listened to the first two and loved them. Going to get around to the third sometime but I've heard it's scarier and I need to read it when it's daylight lol. We don't have much of that in Sweden this time of the year.

Is it really?? I've been waiting for the audiobook but if it's scary I might just read the book instead. The audio makes everything more real! Some parts in the second book were freaky enough that I had to switch over to the e-book (especially that part where he almost drowns in the lake or river or whatever!)

On the other hand, I loveeee Danny's gruff voice. Gives me butterflies in my belly ;-)

Jane (PS) | 24352 comments Date 7 - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 7.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

O is for Obscure - Read a book by an author with 25 or fewer distinct works listed on GR.

To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be written by authors with 25 or fewer distinct works. When looking at the author's GR page, under the profile and questions is a section for the author's books. Under the section title 'author's books' it has statistics - average rating, number of ratings, number of reviews, number of distinct works. For this task, the number listed there for distinct works needs to be 25 or fewer. Please include a link to the author's GR page in your completion post. If the author writes under pseudonyms, the name listed on the selected book needs to qualify for this task.
** Please note, this has changed from 15 to 25 distinct works.**

O is for Odd - Read a book initially published in an odd month and an odd year.

To qualify, the initial publication date needs to be in an odd month (January, March, May, July, September and November) and an odd year (any year ending in an odd number). For example, March 2019 would work, but January of 2020 would not. If there is an initial publication date listed on the editions page, use that. Otherwise I will will looking for the earliest dated English language edition for the qualification.

O is for Ouch - Read a book featuring a character with an illness, injury or disability.

To qualify for this task, the title, series title, precis, tags or lists need to indicate that the book is about a character with an illness, injury or disability. These MUST be IN CONTEXT!! For example, The Blind Side is not about someone who is blind. 😉 The qualification can be specific such as 'cancer' or 'deaf', or generic like 'disabled' or 'illness'.

O is for Ovation - Read a book with an average rating of 4.2 or higher.

To qualify, the selected books need to have an average rating of 4.2 or higher. You will find the average rating for your selected books on the book's main page under the title and author. If the book has very few ratings and is more likely to change, you may wish to take a screen shot of the rating before rating it yourself, especially if your rating is lower.

Oooh - I know there are some books out there, but on the spot I can't think! (This message took a while to pull together!)

For very light and fun: How I Met Your Father or Catch Me If You Can by LB Gregg?

The later books in this series (once you get past the crazy psycho) are pretty light and fun with all their character interactions: All Kinds of Tied Down by Mary Calmes

Finders Keepers that I just read by NR Walker has some great fun in it... Loved the characters in it - and the dog.

And Bond was my stand out fav read of last year. And of course, anything by Lily Morton is bound to be fun.

Jane, thank you 💕 so many awesome recs! You’re actually the third person to recommend all kinds of tied down to me today. Definitely reading that sooner rather than later! Added Finders Keepers too. How I met your father sounds so adorable, but I’m not a fan of novellas. I’d prefer a 300+ page book any day.

I’m very nervous about reading Bond. I was very put-off by the previous omegaverse book I read and am definitely not ready to venture down that path again

Bond is hilarious! Truly lovely. I don't think of those books as being omegaverse even though they are - I think of them more as shifters...
