This category invites participants to re-do one of the previous prompts from this 52 Book Club 2021 challenge. You can pick any one of the previous 52 categories and find another book that fits. You can get widely creative the second time around or not — up to you! This would also be an opportunity to read the partner to "A Book Mentioned In Another Book" or "Shares A Similar Title To Another Book". We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Ben Truong | 60 comments Completion Post:

Just finished reading: "Yesterday" written by Fern Michaels (★★★☆☆) it is a historical romance set in the South. Coming together for a wedding, four friends share memories of childhood set in South Carolina, when a car accident irrevocably changes their lives.

This book shares its title with another book written by Felicia Yap, which I have already read for challenge #31 and am re-doing for this challenge.

Michaels' narrative is filled with stereotypes and tropes, which moves the unevenly and somewhat predictable plot forward. Michaels stirs up love-drama between the old friends and wangles revelations out of Mama Pearl about Bode and Callie's secret origins and racial heritage.

Stina (stinalyn) | 36 comments For a book set in a Mediterranean country, I read both of P. Djèlí Clark's steampunk Cairo stories:

message 14: by Tori (new)

Tori (libroperdido) | 5 comments I was, fortunately, in the middle of a cozy mystery series featuring a cat, so I was able to re-do #43 Character with a pet cat. Cat on the Scent by Rita Mae Brown. I was enjoying this series until the author started injecting her political views through the main character. If it had advanced the story lines that would have been OK. Since it didn't, it was simply annoying.

Carol (cquan01) | 589 comments I used Miller’s of the Flower Moon for a re-do of prompt 28-a historical event I knew little about.

message 17: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 59 comments I read The 99% Invisible City: A Field Guide to the Hidden World of Everyday Design by Roman Mars and Kurt Kohlstedt. This is a repeat of prompt #29 - Featuring the Environment. This one is about the 'built environment'. People who follow the podcast 99% Invisible Design might like this, but be warned, some of the book content is a repeat of some podcast episodes — but there is still definitely new info.
