message 43: by Ben (new)

Ben Truong | 60 comments Completion Post:

Just finished reading: "The Starboard Sea" by Amber Dermont (★★★☆☆), it is a coming-of-age (which could have gone under #45) mystery set in the late 1980s about a troubled teenage boy's hopes for a fresh start after transferring to a third-rate New England prep school.

Dermont is a competent storyteller, but the novel often feels like little more than a series of anecdotes about privilege and impunity than a homogeneous novel.

Felix Ever After - Kacen Callender

message 46: by Donya (new)

Donya If you haven't already you must read The House in the Cerulean Sea. It was one of the best books I read in 2020.

Also Admission is going to be my pick for this prompt.

message 47: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Morton (ashmort85) | 4 comments Some suggestions for this prompt::
Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I'll be reading The Lying Game, by Ruth Ware for this one!
